Mau's Dakshayani Pandey's Car Security Model

Why In News?

On January 5, 2023, Dakshayani Pandey (17 years), daughter of a poor farmer in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh, was selected on the basis of her car safety model with a 100% scholarship at Stanford University in California, USA. She is currently studying in class 12.

Key Points

  • It is noteworthy that after seeing the incident of the death of an innocent in the car due to suffocation on television, a distressed Dakshayani Pandey created a model of car safety, which the whole world is amazed to see and hear. Influenced by this model, he got a call from Stanford University.
  • Dakshayani Pandey will leave for the US in September 2023 for bio-engineering and entrepreneurship on a scholarship.
  • They have created a safety setup for 'Mission Protector' cars. It activates as the carbon dioxide level in the vehicle increases and rolls the car window to allow fresh air inside. In fact, if the car is running and its glass is closed, carbon dioxide gas accumulates inside it. Due to this, the lives of people sitting in the car are in danger. But the specialty of the mission protector is that as soon as the amount of carbon dioxide in the car increases, it will immediately alert and automatically the glass of the car will go down.
  • Dakshayani first showcased her model at the India at 75 National Ideathan-2021 held at IIT Delhi, in which her model stood first. She will patent her 'Mission Protector'.
