World's Most Advanced Artificial Heart

Why in News

  • Recently, IIT Kanpur Deputy Director Prof. Ganesh said that IIT will prepare the world's most advanced type of artificial heart.

Key Points

  • The Hriday Yantra program has been prepared for this exercise by the School of Medical Research and Technology operating in the IIT campus. In this, experts from the medical and technology world of the country and the world will join, as well as the graduate students studying from any class will also be given the opportunity to learn a lot along with the challenge.
  • Experts from Indian Council of Medical Research will also assist IIT Kanpur in this programme.
  • Pro. s. Ganesh said that the Left Ventricular Assist Device will be developed to prepare the artificial heart.
  • With the help of leading hospitals, this program will promote the vision of 'Made in India' for the world. The artificial heart that is used now is very expensive. If it is ready at IIT Kanpur, it will be considered a milestone. This will be the first such device in the country, which will be developed here.
  • It is noteworthy that LVAD or artificial heart is such a pump, which is used in the last stage of heart failure patients. Apart from this, it is used as a bridge awaiting heart transplant or as destination therapy for people unable to be transplanted.
  • This is an implantable battery-operated mechanical pump that helps the left ventricle (the main pumping chamber of the heart) pump blood to the rest of the body.
  • The Hriday Yantra program will not only enrich the health ecosystem of the country, but will also pave the way for interdisciplinary biomedical research and innovation.

Organized District Level Investment Summit

Why in News

  • On January 5, 2022, before the Invest Rajasthan 2022 Summit, a District Level Investment Summit was organized in Jaipur under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Shakuntala Rawat. In this, MoUs and LOIs of more than 23 thousand 528 crores were signed, due to which more than 1 lakh 13 thousand jobs will be created in the state.

Key Points

  • On this occasion, Shakuntala Rawat said that the Invest Rajasthan Summit is being organized this time in a new way, so that more and more investment proposals can be landed.
  • For this, for the first time, the government is organizing such investment conferences in the districts before the conference. These conferences will be held in all the districts for a month before the main summit.
  • The Industries Minister said that for investment of more than Rs 5 crore, the process from MoU to purchase of land would be decided here. When the investment is confirmed, it will be brought to the main summit at the stage of inauguration itself.
  • On this occasion, MoU was also signed for manufacturing of electric vehicles and establishment of Skill University. Apart from this, MoUs and LOUs were signed for the establishment of industries related to solar panels, infrastructure, food processing, furniture, automobiles, gems and jewellery, plywood, hotels and hospitals, textiles and garments.

Election Department did the Final Publication of Voter List of 200 Constituencies of the State

Why in News

  • On January 5, 2022, the Election Department made the final publication of photo voter lists of all 200 assembly constituencies of the state under the special brief revision program of electoral rolls in Rajasthan.

Key Points

  • Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta informed that 14 lakh 22 thousand 968 voters' names were added during the special brief revision program of voter lists in the state. Of these, 7 lakh 20 thousand 223 are males and 7 lakh 2 thousand 745 are females. Thus there was an increase of 2.87 percent voters in all the assembly constituencies of the state.
  • He informed that till the date of last publication, a total of 5 crore 9 lakh 43 thousand 21 voters are registered in the state. Out of these 2 crore 65 lakh 32 thousand 787 male voters and 2 crore 44 lakh 10 thousand 234 female voters are included.
  • A total of 23 thousand 869 specially-abled persons were also registered during the revision programme. A total of 5 lakh 26 thousand 991 specially qualified voters are registered in the voter list of all the assembly constituencies.
  • A total of 28 lakh 46 thousand 506 applications have been received online during the revision program, which is the highest in the entire country. 3 lakh 26 thousand 103 young voters of 18 years of age and 7 lakh 78 thousand 718 voters above 18 years of age have registered themselves in the voter list by giving their own mobile number in the application form.
  • The Chief Electoral Officer informed that a total of 13 lakh 17 thousand 741 voters of age 80 or above 80 years are registered in the published voter list.
  • Similarly, in various assembly constituencies, a total of 5 lakh 26 thousand 991 specially qualified voters are registered in the voter list. He informed that 1 lakh 42 thousand 827 service employed voters are registered in the last part in various assembly constituencies of the state.

New Revenue Villages Declared in Nagaur, Churu and Ajmer

Why in News

  • On January 5, 2022, the Rajasthan government issued separate notifications and declared Majras and Dhanis of Churu, Ajmer, Nagaur districts as new revenue villages.

Key Points

  • According to the notification issued by the Revenue Department, the original revenue village Sabalpura of Kuchaman City Tehsil of Nagaur district has been declared as new revenue village Nadapura and Sindhpura as Shaheed Rameshwar Nagar new revenue village.
  • Similarly, Padlia original revenue village of Bhinai tehsil of Ajmer has been declared as Gordhanpara and Gudakhurd as Indrapura new revenue village. In Ajmer itself, Somalpur original revenue village has been declared as Agla Kankad, Shahi, Chandwala and Dali new revenue village.
  • According to the notification, Ramdevra and Jasrasar revenue village of Churu district have been declared as Jasrasar Bass new revenue village.
  • The collectors of the respective districts have been authorized for the separate maintenance of the records of the original and new revenue villages affected by the formation of these revenue villages and for the rectification work of their separate Jamabandi, Khasra numbers and map records.
  • In another notification issued by the state government, the Patwar Mandals of Churu, Jasrasar and Nakrasar have been reconstituted. The jurisdiction of Jasrasar village will now include Jasrasar, Rampura Bass, Dudhwamitha, Jasrasar Bass revenue villages and Nakrasar and Ramdevra revenue villages will be included in Nakrasar village.

Minister of State for School Education Started the Educational Fair

  • On January 5, 2022, Minister of State for School Education (Independent Charge) Inder Singh Parmar inaugurated the educational fair at Government Naveen Girls Higher Secondary School, Tulsinagar.

  • On this occasion, Minister Inder Singh Parmar gave certificates to the girl students who got the first dose in the statewide Covid vaccination of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years starting from 3rd January. Along with this, the members of the school team were also honored with certificates for vaccination.
  • 150 models of all types related to science, mathematics, arts and crafts and commerce of secondary and higher secondary level have been kept in the fair.
  • Science drama and 'Science not magic' were also organized in the fair. Cartoons of Coronavirus, masks, Motu-Patlu, who came to the school as models, attracted the students.

  • On January 5, 2022, 15 artisans of the state were honored with state level Kabir Bunkar and Vishwakarma Samman by Sant Ravidas Madhya Pradesh Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation in a program organized at Handloom Expo Bhopal Haat Bazaar.

  • Commissioner Handloom and Resham Surabhi Gupta and Sant Ravidas Madhya Pradesh Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation, Managing Director Anubha Srivastava honored the eminent weavers and handicrafts men of the state with these awards for the year 2018-19, year 2019-20 and 2020-21.
  • Commissioner Surabhi Gupta said that the art of weavers is being protected and promoted by the state government. For this purpose, Kabir and Vishwakarma awards are given every year by the state government.
  • It is noteworthy that in the form of state level Kabir Weaver and Vishwakarma Award, one lakh rupees to the first place winner, 50 thousand rupees to the second place and 25 thousand rupees to the third place winners, shawl and citation- letter is provided.
  • For the year 2018-19, first prize went to Ghasiram Lalmani (Chanderi), second prize to Vikas Bande (Maheshwar) and third prize to Anil Mukati (Maheshwar).
  • On the other hand, first prize for the year 2019-20 was given to Rubina B Khan (Maheshwar), second prize to Rekhabai Koli (Chanderi) and third prize to Pannalal Khare (Maheshwar).
  • State level Vishwakarma Award for the year 2020-21 First prize (Joint) to Sugandha Jain (Indore) and Mo Kazim Khatri (Dhar), Second prize (Joint) to Mohsin Chipa (Ujjain) and Subhash Poyam (Bhopal), Third prize (Joint) Joint) Baldev Bagmare (Betul) Dr. Rajiv Naphde (Hoshangabad).
  • Incentive awards were given to Hayat Gutti (Ujjain), Mohd Asif (Ujjain) and Abdul Karim Khatri (Dhar).

Climate Change and Sustainable Development Institute Merged with EPCO

Why in News

  • On January 5, 2022, the Government of Madhya Pradesh merged the Center for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (Climate Change and Sustainable Development Institute) with the Environment Planning and Coordination Organization (EPCO).

Key Points

  • It is noteworthy that in the annual meeting of the Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCC&SD) chaired by the Environment Minister, it was decided to dissolve it in EPCO.
  • In the year 2009, the CDM agency was constituted by the State Government in the Environment Department under the Societies Act. After this the name of CDM Agency was changed to Center for Climate Change and Sustainable Development.
  • By establishing the State Climate Change and Knowledge Management Center in APCO by the State Government, APCO was entrusted with the responsibility of the State Designated Agency.
  • The activities and human resources of this knowledge center are funded by the Union Ministry of Science and Technology under the National Climate Change Knowledge Mission.

Madhya Pradesh Prevention and Recovery of Damage to Public and Private Property Act, 2021

Why in News

  • On January 5, 2022, Madhya Pradesh Law-Legislative Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra informed that Madhya Pradesh Prevention of Damage to Public and Private Property and Recovery of Damage Act, 2021 has come into force with immediate effect.

Key Points

  • Notably, this act was approved by the Governor of Madhya Pradesh on January 3, 2022.
  • He said that strict action as per law would be ensured against those who cause large scale damage to public and private property in the name of agitation, strike, bandh, riots (communal or otherwise), public unrest, agitation or similar activities.
  • Law Minister Dr. Mishra said that there is also a provision in the law to recover legal fines from people who are involved in damage to properties. There is also a provision for the determination of the amount of damage to property and the constitution of a Claims Tribunal for the claim.

Instructions to Prepare 'Land-Pool Policy' for 'Padma' Scheme in Haryana

Why in News

  • Recently, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, presiding over the meeting of officers related to 'Padma' scheme, directed that a 'land-pool policy' should be formulated for 'Padma' scheme. Due to this maximum benefit to the rural people owning the land and employment opportunities in the village will increase.

Key Points

  • The Deputy Chief Minister informed after the meeting that while taking forward the 'Padma' scheme of the Center, the Haryana Government is going to work on it expeditiously. To promote MSMEs in the state, about fifty acres of land will be raised in each block under land pooling.
  • He said that some products have been fixed block-wise by the State Government, which the government would also help in getting them exported. In many villages of the state, such quality products are prepared by skilled people, which can get good prices at national and international level, but due to lack of information, they have to be sold at local level at low prices.
  • According to Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, the intention of the state government is to form a cluster in each block for the best products produced by the people of that block, where plots can be provided to the people for setting up industries like MSMEs. Facilities like electricity, water, road, bank, common service center will be provided in this cluster.

DIC Inaugurates Amrit Park at Bokaro Steel Plant

Why in News

  • On January 5, 2022, BSL Director-in-Charge Amarendu Prakash inaugurated Amrit Park at Bokaro Steel Plant in the presence of ED and other senior officials.

Key Points

  • It has been developed by the officers and staff of HRCF (Hot Rolled Coil Finishing) department of BSL using waste-scrap material in the plant.
  • It has been developed as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations (75th year of Independence).
  • The DIC Director informed that this will not only improve the housekeeping in various shops and departments in the plant but will also be aesthetically appealing, where employees can relax during their leisure time.
  • He has also asked other shops and departments to develop similar parks using waste material in the plant.
