• Authority: The Chief Wildlife Warden (CWLW) is the statutory authority under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 responsible for overseeing the Wildlife Wing of the state forest department.
• Administrative Control: The CWLW exercises full administrative control over Protected Areas (PAs) within the state, ensuring the implementation of wildlife protection measures.
• Structure of Protected Areas: Each Protected Area (PA) is generally classified as a Wildlife Division, with administrative responsibilities headed by a Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF).
