The Governor released the books published in the form of 4 abridged versions of Valmiki Ramayana

- On September 1, 2023, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya released the books published as four abridged versions of Valmiki Ramayana by Ramayana Prasar Parishodh Pratishthan located in Ambala district of the state.
Key Points:
- The Governor was apprised that Ramayana will be translated into 435 languages and at present 15 languages have been translated and translation work is going on in 13 languages.
- The Secretary of the Foundation informed about the plan of other research works and said that the objective of this scheme is to make constitutionally and development-based policy-based on Valmiki Ramayana, to draft evaluation.

Deputy CM launches 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikar' scheme from Gurugram
Why is News?
On September 1, 2023, as an important initiative of the Government of India, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala launched the 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikar' scheme from Sector 15 Part-II market of Gurugram district of the state.
Key Points:
- It is worth mentioning that under an important initiative of the Government of India, with the cooperation of the State Governments, 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikar' scheme has been launched in three states of the country including Haryana, namely Assam and Gujarat & three Union Territories, namely Puducherry, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu.
- The Deputy Chief Minister said that this scheme has been launched to encourage tax payment. By being a part of this scheme, if the residents of the state pay tax to the government, then the government will also reward them in the form of incentives.
- An annual corpus fund of Rs 30 crore has been earmarked for this scheme.
- Under this scheme, a lucky draw will be conducted for consumers who upload bills on the mobile app or portal, under which two prizes of Rs 800 and Rs 10 lakh each will be given in the monthly draw.
- At the same time, two winners of the draw held on a quarterly basis will get a prize money of Rs 1 crore each.
- In this regard, Union Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra said that the objective of this program is to promote the trend of customers asking for invoices/bills for all their purchases.
- Under the 'Invoice Promotion Scheme', the objective of this scheme is to bring a radical change in the behaviour of the general public, so that they start considering it their right and entitlement to 'demand bills' from all the vendors.
- All bills (B2C invoices) issued to consumers in the respective states and union territories will be eligible under this program. The minimum value of an invoice to be considered for the lucky draw has been kept at Rs 200.
- Invoices can be uploaded through mobile application 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikar' available on iOS and Android as well as web portal web.merabill.gst.gov.in.
