Jeevika Didi Ki Rasoi' Scheme started in 6 more hospitals

On September 4, 2023, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav launched the 'Jeevika Didi Ki Rasoi' program for patients in four sub-divisional hospitals along with two medical colleges of the state.

  • Under the agreement between Jeevika and State Health Committee, 'Jeevika Didi Ki Rasoi' in sub-divisional hospitals Rajgir, Danapur, Dhamdaha and Forbesganj along with the inauguration of Jannayak Karpuri Thakur Medical College and Hospital Madhepura and Bhagwan Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences Nalanda (Pawapuri). U.P. overtakes 22 states in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)

In terms of FDI in the five years between 2019 and 2023, Uttar Pradesh has left behind 22 states including Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Kerala, Chandigarh and Madhya Pradesh.

  • According to the information, in the 17 years between 2001 and 2017, about four times as much foreign investment came in Uttar Pradesh, in just five years between 2019 and 2023.
  • According to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and the Reserve Bank of India, between 2000 and 2017, foreign investment of only Rs 3,000 crore came in Uttar Pradesh, while between 2019 and June 2023, about Rs 11,000 crore was directly invested from abroad. .
  • Between October 2019 and June 2023, Uttar Pradesh has come at the 11th position in the list of foreign direct investment in different states of the country. Above Uttar Pradesh are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Telangana, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
  • Uttar Pradesh has left behind 22 states including Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal, Bihar, Chandigarh, Goa, and Chhattisgarh. Looking at the economic growth, this year Uttar Pradesh is expected to be included in the top 10 states of the country.
  • Investment is considered an index of progress and the social & political environment of any state. The state whose image will be of low crime rate, political stability and policies promoting industries, there the pace of investment is fast and high. These standards are even more sensitive in the case of investments coming from foreign companies.
  • There has been a record increase in FDI in this sector only because of improving the image of Uttar Pradesh. According to the regional offices of RBI, in the last 17 years, FDI of only Rs 3018 crore came in Uttar Pradesh. In the year 2014-15, Rs 679 crore, in 2015-16 Rs 524 crore, in the year 2016-17 foreign investment of Rs 50 crore came. In the 14 years between 2000 and 2014, only about Rs 1800 crore came in the form of FDI.

Health department released booklet of new Drug Policy in the state after 27 years

On September 4, 2023, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav released the booklet of the new drug policy in the state after 27 years.

  • After the introduction of the new drug policy, need-based availability of medicines and medical materials will be ensured in government hospitals to provide proper treatment facilities to the citizens of the state. Also, the possibility of expiry and damage of medicines will be reduced.
  • The policy also lays down guidelines for destruction of expired and damaged drugs.
  • In the new drug policy, a policy has been prepared to assess the need for medicines and make a request. Now it is the responsibility of the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent and In-Charge Medical Officer of government hospitals to make a need-based assessment and demand for continuous availability of all types of EDL medicines issued by the Health Department in government hospitals.
  • The dates for the demand for medicines have also been fixed by the hospitals as per their requirement. Now hospitals will be able to demand essential medicines for April, May and June between January 1 and 10. Similarly, from April 1 to April 10, medicines for July, August and September will be demanded, medicines for October, November and December will be demanded between July 1 and 10.
  • The hospital superintendent will send the demand for medicines for January, February and March to BMSICL between October 1 and 10.
  • An alert of expired medicines will be sent to the in-charges. Information related to such medicines, which are going to be spoiled in the near future, will be sent to the Manager, Director, Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, In-charge Medical Officer of the Institute through SMS, WhatsApp and e-mail.

131 government scholls to be converted into Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools

  • Presently, solar power projects with 1778 MW capacity include 1500 MW Agra-Malwa, Shajapur and Neemuch Solar Parks and 500 MW Neemuch Park Project.
  • Future projects include a 600 MW floating solar park in the world's largest Omkareshwar reservoir. With this, full production will start by the end of the year.
  • Apart from this, 3350 MW capacity projects include 1400 MW Morena and 450 MW Chhatarpur Park and 1500 MW floating solar projects at Birsinghpur Reservoir, Indira Sagar Reservoir and Gandhisagar Reservoir.

  • The Deputy Chief Minister said that this scheme has been launched to encourage tax payment. By being a part of this scheme, if the residents of the state pay tax to the government, then the government will also reward them in the form of incentives.
  • An annual corpus fund of Rs 30 crore has been earmarked for this scheme.
  • Under this scheme, a lucky draw will be conducted for consumers who upload bills on the mobile app or portal, under which two prizes of Rs 800 and Rs 10 lakh each will be given in the monthly draw.
  • At the same time, two winners of the draw held on a quarterly basis will get a prize money of Rs 1 crore each.
  • In this regard, Union Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra said that the objective of this program is to promote the trend of customers asking for invoices/bills for all their purchases.
  • Under the 'Invoice Promotion Scheme', the objective of this scheme is to bring a radical change in the behaviour of the general public, so that they start considering it their right and entitlement to 'demand bills' from all the vendors.
  • All bills (B2C invoices) issued to consumers in the respective states and union territories will be eligible under this program. The minimum value of an invoice to be considered for the lucky draw has been kept at Rs 200.
  • Invoices can be uploaded through mobile application 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikar' available on iOS and Android as well as web portal web.merabill.gst.gov.in.
