Stroke Intervention Lab will be Established in Sawai Mansingh Hospital
Why in News?
On 4 May 2023, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved a financial provision of Rs 8 crore for the establishment of a stroke intervention lab at Sawai Mansingh SMS Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Key Points:
- With this lab, medical facilities will be expanded in the SMS hospital and patients will be able to get better treatment in a timely manner.
- It is notable that the Chief Minister announced the establishment of the lab in the budget of the year 2023-24.
- A stroke is a medical emergency that requires immediate medical care because the brain does not receive enough oxygen or nutrients. Due to which brain cells (brain cells) die.

Shri Ramchandra Path-Gaman Trust
Why in News?
On 4 May 2023, a meeting of the Council of Ministers was held in the Ministry under the chairmanship of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The Council of Ministers has approved the formation of 'Shri Ramchandra Path-Gaman Trust' for the development of Shri Ramchandra Path-Gaman areas. .
Key Points:
- There will be 33 members in this trust. It will have 28 ex-officio trustees and 5 non-official trustees. The maximum tenure of non-official trustees will be 3 years.
- Expert committees can be constituted from time to time to conduct the activities of this trust. The culture department will be competent for the institutional arrangement of this trust.
- A project management unit will be constituted for the smooth operation of this trust. There will be a total of 7 posts of officers and employees in this unit.
- Approval has been given for the creation of 32 new posts, including the Chief Executive Officer, for conducting the activities of this trust, on which the annual financial burden will be more than Rs 1 crore 57 lakh.

Urban Development Department got 3 Scotch Awards
Why in News?
On 4 May 2023, Madhya Pradesh Urban Development & Housing Department received 3 Scotch Awards for Urban Development and Municipal Governance.
Key Points
- Silver Scotch Award 2023 has been awarded to the Urban Development and Housing Department for doing remarkable work in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Sagar Smart City for making She Lounge women's facility and Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company for Dharmapuri sewage collection treatment and disposal.
- The Housing for All Mission was launched on 25 June 2015 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), with the objective of providing housing for all in urban areas by the year 2022. The Central Government has given approval to continue this mission till 31 December 2024.

Guru Gorakshanath Memorial Festival
Why in News?
Guru Gorakshanath Memorial Festival was celebrated on 4 May 2023 in Karnal, Haryana. In this state level function, Chief Minister Manohar Lal made several announcements.
Key Points
- On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced that an educational institution in the state would be named after Guru Gorakhnath. In addition, a Peeth (Bench) will be established in the name of Guru Gorakhnath at Baba Mastnath University, Asthal Bohar, Rohtak, to conduct research on his life and his teachings.
- The Chief Minister also announced that people from the Nath community would be included in the Pujari-Purohit Welfare Board.
- The State Government had provided reservation to BC(A) category in Panchayati Raj Institutions. Now, on the same lines, reservation will be provided to the BC (A) category in the municipal bodies as well.
- To make children aware of the teachings of Baba Gorakhnath, the biography of Guru Gorakhnath and his teachings will be mentioned in the school curriculum.
- Chowks or roads will be named after Guru Gorakhnath in those cities where the Yogi Samaj will give consent.
- It is worth mentioning that the state government is celebrating the birth anniversaries of all saints under the Saint-Great Purush Samman and Publicity Scheme to propagate the teachings of saints & great men. This memorial festival has also been organized in this episode.

PM Prasad will be the New Chairman of Coal India
Why in News?
On 3 May 2023, an interview was conducted by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) for the new Chairman (Chairman cum Managing Director) of the country's public sector Coal India, in which, after interviewing a total of seven shortlisted candidates, the board has recommended the selection of PM Prasad for the post.
Key Points
- It is known that P.M. Prasad is currently the CMD of CCL (Central Coalfield Limited).
- P.M. Prasad was also Director Technical in NCL.
- In 2015, he became the Executive Director of NTPC. In August 2019, he became the CMD of BCCL, Dhanbad. He was transferred to CCL on 1 September 2020.
- Pramod Kumar Agarwal (IAS), the current 28th chairman of Coal India, is retiring on 30 June 2023. A total of seven officers have held the post of Chairman of Coal India so far, including Pramod Kumar Agarwal, the present Chairman of Coal India.
- P.M. Prasad is a Mining Engineer from Osmania University. He did his M.Tech in 'Open-cast Mining' from the Indian School of Mines (IIT-ISM), Dhanbad.
- In 1988, he obtained First Class Mines Manager Certificate from DGMS and also obtained a law degree from Nagpur University in 1997.
