Rs. 18 crore Approved for Panorama in Jaipur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Jaisalmer.

Why In News?

On October 3, 2023, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had approved Rs 18 crore for the construction of panoramas in 4 districts – Jaipur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Jaisalmer.

Key Points:

  • It is known that the state government is preparing a panorama to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the state and to make the new generation aware of the life ideals of great men.
  • With the approval of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Swami Atmaramji Lakshya Panorama will be built in Jaipur and Rao Bikaji Panorama in Bikaner. These will cost Rs 4 crore each.
  • Besides, Prithviraj Chauhan Panorama will be constructed in Ajmer and Indira Mahashakti Bharat Panorama will be constructed in Pokhran, Jaisalmer. Rs 5 crore each will be spent on this. All the work will be done by the Tourism Department with the Tourism Development Fund.
  • In these panoramas, the new generation will get information about the personalities of Swami Atmaram ji, Prithviraj Chauhan and Rao Bikaji and the golden history of India. With this, they will be able to take inspiration from the lives of great men and get acquainted with the glorious history and culture.
  • It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister had made an announcement in this regard in the Budget 2023-24.

Recently, the new TVC 'Jo Aaya, Wo Aaya, Yeh Hai MP Ki Maya' launched by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board received the first prize in the Digital Media Advertising Grade at the Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Tour Archeologists (IATO) held in Maharashtra.

Chief Minister launches 'Swami Atmanand Coaching' Scheme

Why In News?

On October 3, 2023, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the School Education Department's innovative 'Swami Atmanand Coaching' Scheme online from his residence office for competitive examinations of engineering and medical.

Key Points:

  • Under this scheme, free coaching will be given to class 12th students in government schools through 146 development block headquarters of the state and 150 coaching centers including four cities - Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur and Korba.
  • In front of Chief Minister Baghel and School Education Minister Ravindra Choubey, an MoU was signed between Samagra Shiksha, Chhattisgarh TextBook Corporation and Allen Career Coaching Institute Private Limited under the School Education Department for running the Swami Atmanand Coaching Scheme.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister released a brochure prepared by the School Education Department regarding the Swami Atmanand Coaching Scheme.
  • The Chief Minister said that 753 Swami Atmanand excellent English and Hindi medium schools are being run in the state to provide excellent education to the children including rural and remote areas. Swami Atmanand Coaching Scheme launched today in the state will prove to be a revolutionary decision and an important step in the field of education.
  • The Chief Minister said that under this scheme, proper arrangements have been made for coaching as well as teachers. Separate nodal teachers have been identified for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects in a coaching center.
  • There will be regular observation of teaching work in coaching centers and feedback from parents will also be taken. There will be two-way communication in online classes, that is, students will be able to ask questions to subject teachers. During this period, students will be continuously assessed.
  • Regarding the Swami Atmanand Coaching Scheme, Principal Secretary School Education Dr. Alok Shukla said that 150 coaching centers including 146 development blocks and four cities of the state - Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur and Korba have related to internet connections and computers.
  • Here, coaching will be given to the students studying in the Faculty of Mathematics and Biology in class 12th. This free coaching will be given to Hindi and English medium students.
  • So far 9 thousand 13 children have been registered under this scheme. Of these, 6 thousand 553 have registered for NEET and 2 thousand 460 have registered for JEE coaching.

Country's First Cartography Museum Inaugurated in Mussoorie

Recently, Uttarakhand Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj inaugurated the country's first cartography museum, George Everest Cartography Museum, in the picturesque city of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.

  • On the occasion of World Tourism Day on September 27, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj inaugurated the Sir George Everest Museum built at a cost of Rs 23 crore 52 lakh and the helipad at George Everest in Mussoorie.
  • The tourism minister dedicated the country's first mapping museum to the great mathematician Radhanath Sikdar and Pandit Nain Singh Rawat.
  • It is noteworthy that the museum is located in the Park Estate, which used to be the residence of the famous surveyor Sir George Everest, after whom Mount Everest was named. This hill is in the Hathipaon area of the city. Sir Everest lived in this house from 1832 to 1843 and it is one of the first houses built in Mussoorie.
  • Sir George Everest House, built in 1832, has been developed as a museum. With the assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Department of Tourism has renovated it with a budget of Rs 23.5 crore.
  • The museum contains information about the history of cartography, instruments related to cartography, great Indian surveyors and the great trigonometric survey.
  • Along with Sir George Everest, letters of Surveyor Nain Singh Rawat will also be kept in this museum. Along with this, people will also come face to face with the observatory of surveyor Kishan Singh Negi and mathematician Radhanath Sikdar.
  • In the Cartographic Museum, tourists will also be able to know the working of GPS, for which the globe has been prepared. The museum has been prepared with modern technology, such as how do satellites work. How are GPS and communication systems operated in them? This information can also be obtained.
  • The complete information about the equipment that the tourists coming to this museum will stand in front of will be displayed, which will be operated through special software and all the information will be available on the mobile as soon as the QR code is scanned.
  • It is noteworthy that cartography is about exploring and making maps. It uses science, art and technical skills to depict real or imagined places, helping to understand where things are located.

  • Under the Dastak Campaign, from October 16 to 31, 2023, a special program will be run by Asha workers to go door-to-door to identify the patients suffering from fever, cough and other complaints, counsel them, take them to the hospital and arrange for their proper treatment.

On October 3, 2023, in a program organized at the museum located at Sardar Patel Bhawan in Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled the brand ‘Mukti’ of the prison industry.

  • An exhibition of materials made by the prisoners in the jail was also organized in the museum. The prisoners lodged in the jails of Bihar are manufacturing more than 100 items.
  • In this, spices, sattu, bread, herbal tea, cotton clothes, khadi clothes, wood industry, handicrafts, printing materials, slippers industry, home care, food, iron, paper etc. are produced.
  • At present, prison industries are operating in 8 central and 2 divisional prisons (total 10 prisons) of Bihar. Through this, about 1000 hard labor prisoners are getting employment. The prisoners have been given special training for this.
  • The scheme of ‘one prison-one product’ is being worked on in the jails of Bihar. There is a plan to include 33 divisional jails and 17 sub-jails in this scheme. The Kara industry will be established here.
  • The Inspector General of Prisons said that the revenue received from the sale of products manufactured by the prison industry is spent on the welfare of the families of prisoners suffering from crime, and some part of it also goes to the Prisoner Welfare Fund.
  • The exhibition included Adarsh Central Jail, Beur, Patna, Central Jail, Buxar, Central Jail, Motihari, Shaheed Khudiram Bose Central Jail, Muzaffarpur, Shaheed Jubba Sahni Central Jail, Bhagalpur, Special Central Jail, Bhagalpur, Central Jail, Gaya, Camp Mandal Jail Various materials made by prisoners from Phulwari Sharif and Mandal Jail, Chhapra have been displayed.

  • On this occasion, Dr. Saroj Kochhar, President Sanskrit Academy, informed that the Academy will open Ved Ashrams in 10 new districts under Budget Announcement-23 this year for the preservation of the Guru tradition of the Vedas and informed that at present there are 45 Ved ashrams in the state.   • The Chief Minister said that with the start of the Metro in Bhopal, a new revolution of transportation will come, and Bhopal will run at a fast pace on the path of development. Bhopal Metro will be expanded to Sehore, Mandideep as well as Raisen and Vidisha.
  • Five kilometers from Subhash Nagar to Rani Kamlapati station. The long metro section has 5 stations, the infrastructure work of which was completed very quickly despite natural obstacles.
  • Chief Minister Chouhan said that metro trains will save both time and money. Bhopal residents will have access to safe, easy, convenient, cheap and beautiful means of transportation and pollution in the city will also reduce.
  • The metro coaches equipped with modern facilities include smart lighting, air conditioning, smart display, AI CCTV. There will be facilities like cameras etc.
  • The total length of Bhopal Metro project worth about Rs 6 thousand 941 crore is 31 km (about 19.26 mi). It will be 16.77 km (about 10.42 mi) from Karond intersection to AIIMS, 14.18 km (about 8.81 mi) from Ratnagiri intersection to Bhadbhada intersection. But this train will run.
  • In the first phase, Subhash Nagar will extend 7 km to AIIMS. Metro trains will operate on long routes. Complete operation of Bhopal Metro will start from 2024.
  • Metro Rail stations will also be special, where there will be facilities like lifts and escalators, special arrangements for the elderly and online ticketing facilities.

  • The Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation a road upgradation project from 'Kunkuri to Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border section' of National Highway-43. The new road will improve road connectivity, which will benefit the people of the area.

6th Global Disaster Management Conference to be held in Uttarakhand from November 28

  • With the aim of making the conference more effective, special sessions on disaster management will be organized in various institutions including universities, colleges and schools of the state. Besides, various workshops will also be organized to spread awareness about disaster management.
  • The inaugural session will be held on 28th November. At the same time, there will be four sessions in the conference, in which there will be 50 technical sessions. Experts and scientists from many countries will participate in the conference.
  • The Disaster Management Department is organizing a mega show in this regard. An exhibition will also be organized in the conference.
