Inauguration of Covid Vaccination of Adolescent Children of 15 to 18 years in the State

Why in News

  • On January 3, 2022, the covid vaccination campaign has started for the children of 15 to 18 years in Uttar Pradesh. In order to motivate the children of 15 to 18 years for vaccination, the Chief Minister directed that these children should be allowed leave from school on the day of vaccination and the next day.

Key Points

  • The Chief Minister said that the number of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years is about 1 crore 40 lakh in the state. The process of vaccination for this age group has started at 2,150 booths in the state from today. Vaccines are being given to children of 15 to 18 years at 39 centers in the capital Lucknow.
  • Significantly, more than 20 crore 25 lakh vaccine doses have been given so far in Uttar Pradesh under the age group of 18 years. 12 crore 84 lakh 94 thousand 516 people have taken the first dose of vaccine and 7 crore 40 lakh 93 thousand 819 people have taken both the doses.
  • The Chief Minister said that so far 8 cases of Omicron have been reported in the state, out of which 3 cases have already turned negative. The rest are in home isolation. There are currently 2,261 active cases of Covid-19 in the state. Of these, more than 2,100 are in home isolation.

Chief Minister Released the Books Published by the Legislature Library

Why in News

  • On January 3, 2022, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath released 'Karmayoddha Ram Nai', 'Hriday Narayan Dixit Rachnavali' and other books published by the Legislature Library under the guidance of the Speaker, in a program organized at Lok Bhawan.

Key Points

  • Earlier, he unveiled oil paintings of President Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Dr. BR Ambedkar and former President Dr. Rajendra Prasad in Rajarshi Purushottamdas Tandon Hall of Vidhan Bhavan and also inaugurated the Legislature Publications Vendor.
  • It is to be noted that in the books published by the Legislature Library, books based on the compilation of speeches of 5 Chief Ministers were released. These include a compilation of speeches given by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly- 'Sankalp and Sanjalp: Dialogues of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly' including 'Rajnath Singh in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly', 'Kalyan Singh in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly', 'Ram Prakash in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly' and 'Chowdhary Charan Singh's speech in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly' are included.
  • Along with this, the books published by the Legislature Library include 'Speeches of elected members from Uttar Pradesh in the Constituent Assembly', 'Representation of Women in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Participation in the Council of Ministers', 'Parliamentary Privileges in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly', 'Of Uttar Pradesh Books were also released on 'Speeches of the Hon'ble Governors', 'Seeings of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and the presence of honorable members in them'.
  • The Chief Minister said that a book 'Karmayoddha Ram Naik' based on various memoirs of Charaiveti Charaiveti, the autobiography of former Governor Ram Naik, has been released. Charaiveti Charaiveti Book has been translated into about 11 languages. This book provides positive energy to each and every person in different areas of life. The book Karmayoddha Ram Naik expresses the vitality and activism of former Governor Ram Naik, his deep penetration on every aspect of Uttar Pradesh and society.
  • The books released here will be a large collection for the Legislature Library, which have been stored as separate book sizes. These books will be informative for the prosperity of the library as well as for the new assembly members, those interested in politics, research scholars and people keeping an eye on the social and economic activities related to Uttar Pradesh in public life.
  • He said that a book related to the speech of elected members from Uttar Pradesh in the Constituent Assembly and representation of women in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and their participation in the council has been released here. This book will be interesting and inspirational for future generations.

Statewide Free Brucella Vaccination Campaign

Why in News

  • Recently, Madhya Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Prem Singh Patel has instructed the departmental officers to ensure vaccination of 4 to 8 months old cow-buffalo calves in Brucella vaccination campaign.

Key Points

  • Animal Husbandry Minister Prem Singh Patel informed that free Brucella vaccination campaign is being run in the state from January 1 to January 31, 2022 under the National Livestock Health and Disease Control Program for the prevention of Brucellosis disease. Appealing to the livestock farmers to take full advantage of the campaign, Minister Prem Singh Patel said that Brucellosis disease is a reproductive disease of cattle and buffalo, which is caused by the bacteria Brucellosis abortus.
  • Symptoms include fever, late pregnancy abortion, sterility, heat delay, loss of calves due to obstruction of lactation, and decreased milk production.
  • Minister Prem Singh Patel said that by vaccinating once in a lifetime, bovine calves of 4 to 8 months of age can be saved from Brucellosis disease.
  • Minister Prem Singh Patel has directed the officers of the Animal Husbandry Department to ensure Brucella vaccination of all the calves of cow and buffalo that fall in the advanced age group of their area. Vaccination will not only keep cows, buffaloes healthy, but milk production will also increase.

Vaccination Started for 15.40 Lakh Adolescents

Why in News

  • Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that from January 3, in Haryana, 15.40 lakh adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years have been started with anti-coronavirus vaccine.

Key Points

  • The Health Minister informed that 98 percent first and 70 percent second doses have been administered in Haryana. There are currently more than 8 lakh Co-vaccines and over 31 lakh Covishields available.
  • Health Minister Anil Vij said that the state government is ready to fight the corona epidemic. There are enough ventilators. PSA plants have been commissioned in 84 government hospitals. Plants have also been set up in 54 private hospitals.
  • Efforts are being made to set up this plant in the remaining hospitals as well. With effect from January 1, the decision to ban those who do not take both doses in public places has increased the vaccination.

Chief Minister Launched Direct Building Permission System

Why in News

  • On January 3, 2021, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the online direct building permit system without human intervention for construction of buildings on residential plots up to 500 sq m (5382 sq ft) in urban areas in a program organized at his residence office.

Key Points

  • The Chief Minister granted the first building permit issued through this system to the applicant, Smt. Chetan Dev Sahu, resident of Swadshiwani, Raipur.
  • Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on the occasion that this system would accelerate the development of the cities of the state and citizens would get an effective solution to a major problem.
  • Building permission is an important process for the citizens of the state who want to build their own house. Earlier this process was not so easy, citizens used to have a lot of trouble to get this facility. Because this process used to take a long time to complete and this process used to reach many officials to get the map passed and after that the citizen got building permission to build the house.
  • Now all this process will be free from human intervention and will be completed at the earliest. If the applicant has all the correct documents then the applicant has to submit the application fee of 1Rs. Now they will not have to travel anywhere to make their home.

CM Launches Covid Vaccination Campaign for Adolescents in the age Group of 15 to 18 years

Why in News

  • On January 3, 2022, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the COVID vaccination campaign for adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years at Sanatan Dharma Inter College, Bannu Racecars, Dehradun. On this occasion, vaccination of Kumari Arna and Kumari Pratha was done in front of the Chief Minister.

Key Points

  • On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that all 06 lakh 28 thousand adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years would be vaccinated in a week.
  • Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that under the vaccination campaign for adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 in the entire state, adolescents studying in this age group from outside states would also be vaccinated.
  • The Health Minister said that 85 percent of the target of the second dose of Covid vaccination has been completed in the state, it will be completed soon. A booster dose campaign will also be started for frontline workers and people above 60 years of age from January 10.
