MP Govt Implements 27% OBC Reservation

Why in News

  • On September 2, 2021, the General Administration Department of Madhya Pradesh issued orders to implement 27 percent reservation for Other Backward Classes.

Key Points

  • By the Madhya Pradesh Public Service (Reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) Amendment Act, 2019, the reservation percentage for the Other Backward Classes in the process of direct recruitment in public services and posts has been increased from 14 to 27 percent, which is effective from 8 March, 2019.
  • Petitions have been filed in the High Court, Jabalpur challenging the increase in the reservation percentage of Other Backward Classes from 14 to 27 percent as provided in the said Order Amendment Act, 2019.
  • It is noteworthy that the total population of Other Backward Classes of Madhya Pradesh is more than 51 percent.
  • Legal opinion has been given by the Advocate General on August 25, 2021 in the prevailing cases regarding the said reservation of backward classes in the High Court, Jabalpur. He has given a clear opinion to take action in accordance with the provisions of 27 percent reservation for backward classes in all the examinations/recruitments except the cases mentioned in clause-5 of this legal opinion, MPPSC, medical education and recruitment of teachers.
  • Along with this, the state government has appointed Gaurishankar Bisen as the chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Commission.
  • Significantly, on August 15, 2021, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced the formation of Backward Classes Welfare Commission.

Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test (DMIT) Software

Why in News

  • On September 2, 2021, State's Olympic hockey player Vivek Sagar launched Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test (DMIT) software at Crisp Institute located in Shyamala Hills.

Key Points

  • The Central Center for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP) has developed this software, with the help of which personality-analysis can be done through fingerprints.
  • On this occasion, brain mapping of Vivek Sagar was also done through fingerprint. Also, the Crisp institute announced him as Sports Promotion Brand Ambassador.
  • Vivek said that the new Modern Scientific Technique (DMIT) prepared by Crisp Institute will now prove helpful in nurturing new talents in the state.
  • The (DMIT) software introduced by Crisp will enable to know about the interest and quality of the game of young children. This software will prove to be very helpful in talent search.
  • Dr. Sanskriti Mishra of Crisp said that Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Analysis is a science, in which fingerprints of hands are studied. Earlier this mode was used for criminology. Later it was used to identify physical and mental diseases.
  • Mrs. Mishra said that it has been found in the research that the kind of the shapes are on different parts of a person's brain, the exact same type of impression is available as fingerprints on a person's fingers, which is called the neuromagnetic effect.
