Bhopal Ranks Second in Cyber Crime Investigation in the Country

Why In News?

Recently, Bhopal Cyber Police was ranked second in the country for better and robust investigation of cryptocurrency related fraud of cyber crime.

Key Points

  • In a presentation held at the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), New Delhi last day, a case study on investigation of cyber crime Bhopal was selected among the best 10 case studies.
  • In its presentation, the cyber police showed how during the investigation, Piyush Singh's company of Indore made mainly three products for the client of Japan. Using these products, any user can create their own digital wallet (account).
  • In this digital wallet he can store crypto assets and invest them. It can also transfer crypto assets and the user gets rewards and bonuses, which are credited to the company's digital account every day.
  • The investigation found that Keshi Kubi of Japanese origin, who formerly worked in Piyush Singh's company, misused confidential information to create fake users in the product of Piyush Singh's Japanese client and showed fake investment of crypto through API in them. This also led to the accused getting rewards daily.
  • The accused convert cryptocurrency ANX to BTC using a feature OTE of the Anglieum wallet (in which the company takes ANX from the user and the same value BTC from the company wallet to the user) and BTC (BITCOIN) into the crypto wallet of himself and his family. He continued to commit fraud by transfer. Cyber police also exposed the crime by decoding the fake address in their investigation.

State's First 500 MVA Transformer Energized in Bhopal

Why In News?

On September 1, 2022, Rajesh Srivastava, Chief Engineer of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company, said that recently Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company successfully energized the state's first 500 MVA power transformer at 400 KV substation Bhopal.

  • Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company has installed a power transformer of 500 MVA capacity for the first time in its transmission network of the state at an estimated cost of about Rs 25 crore.
  • Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company has selected this 500 MVA capacity power transformer manufactured by M/s T&R specially designed at the place where 400/220/132 KV power transformer of 400/220/132 KV will be installed at Bhopal. has been installed.
  • Chief Engineer Rajesh Srivastava said that so far conventional 315 MVA power transformers have been installed in 400 KV substations. Instead, for the first time, this is the first power transformer of 500 MVA capacity, which has been installed as part of the government's intention to adopt more and more innovations.
  • The advantage of this innovation is that the number of power transformers of 315 MVA capacity is installed in the same infrastructure as the transformer of 500 MVA capacity. This saves the process of installing additional transformers, money and labor. Also, the sudden load demand in substations can also be met. After the installation of this transformer, the capacity of 400 KV substation Bhopal has increased to 1445 MVA.
  • Apart from the urban and industrial area of Bhopal, apart from Bairagarh, Vidisha, Mugalia Chhap, Ashta area will also benefit greatly from the installation of this transformer. Haryana Enterprise Promotion Rules, 2016

Why In News?

The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on September 1, 2022, approved the amendment to the 'Haryana Enterprise Promotion Rules, 2016'.

Key Points

  • The state government has enacted the Haryana Enterprise Promotion Act, 2016 and related rules to create an ecosystem in the state that matches the ease of doing business and is also better than the best global standards for delays in doing business as well as reducing costs.
  • The Haryana Enterprise Promotion Board (HEPB) has been constituted under Section 3 of the Haryana Enterprise Promotion Act, 2016 and the Empowered Executive Committee (EEC) has been constituted under Section 4 of the said Act.
  • In the Empowered Executive Committee (EEC), the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister is the Chairman of the Committee. The Administrative Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department is the member-cum-Chief Executive Officer of the committee.
  • Town and Country Planning, Environment, Forests, Public Works (Buildings and Roads), Finance, Public Health Engineering, Electricity, Urban Local Bodies, Labour, Director General of HSIIDC or Administrative Secretaries of Industries and Commerce departments are the directors of the committee.
  • The major role of EEC is to examine the cases of incentives/special packages under various schemes/policies of the Government and recommend the same to the Haryana Enterprise Promotion Board.
  • The EEC further approves and recommends cases for special packages including reimbursement of GST. However, the Administrative Secretary of the Excise and Taxation Department is not a member of this committee. There was a need to amend Rule 4(1) of the Haryana Enterprise Promotion Rules, 2016 to include the Administrative Secretary of the Excise and Taxation Department as a member of the Empowered Executive Committee (EEC).
  • Apart from this, the cabinet gave ex-post (post-facto) approval to amend the Haryana Public Service Commission (Limitation of Works) Regulations, 1973. According to this amendment, instead of Haryana Staff Selection Commission, HPSC has been made mandatory to conduct the recruitment process for various posts of Post Graduate Teacher Group-B. The recruitment process for all other Group-B posts is being conducted by HPSC.

22 New Varieties of Wheat Dedicated to the Country

Why In News?

On September 1, 2022, Director, Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research (IIWBR), Karnal, Dr. Gyanendra Pratap Singh said that under the supervision of IIWBR, 22 new species of wheat were dedicated to the farmers in the country.

Key Points

  • This is the first time that so many species have been approved simultaneously in 2022 in partnership with various research institutes of the country.
  • Of these, five species are from IIWBR Karnal (Haryana), besides area expansion of two species of the institute has also been done. This is a revolutionary step in the production of wheat in the country, as it will present more options to the farmers of the country.
  • These decisions were taken in the 61st seminar held on 29 and 30 August in Gwalior under the joint auspices of the Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research (IIWBR), Karnal and Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh).
  • Dr. Gyanendra Pratap Singh said that the report was presented by the Species Identification Committee in the seminar, in which the committee discussed 27 proposals. Out of this, 22 varieties of wheat have been approved and approved for farmers' fields. These will soon be released by the Central Species Approval Committee.
  • Of these 22 species, five are from IIWBR Karnal. These include DBW-370, DBW-371, DBW-372 and DBW-316, besides DDW-55.
  • The production of DBW-370 with early sowing and high production has been approved for 74.9 quintals per hectare, 371 for 75.9 quintals per hectare, 372 approved for two zones has been approved for 60 quintals per hectare (75.3 quintals per hectare for Central India).
  • The production of 316 (late sown species) is 41 quintal per hectare for Northeast India, while for the central zone in limited water, the variety DDW-55 of Kathia wheat has been approved, in which only one watering is required.
  • Principal Investigator (Crop Improvement), IIWBR, Dr. Gyanendra Singh said that apart from this, two species of IIWBR have joined DBW-187 and 303 mega species. There are 187 such species, which have been approved for 20 million hectares, which has reached five million hectares of area in the country. In Haryana, 50 percent of these species are being sown.
  • Expanding the area of these two species has been approved for high fertility, early sowing in the middle zone. Apart from this, the species approved are PBW 826 (for two zones), PBW 883, HD 3369, 3406, 3411 and 3467 of IARI New Delhi, HI 1653, 1654, 1650, 1655, 8826, MACS of IRI Indore. Agriculture Minister Launched Statewide 'Meri Policy Mere Haath' Program

Why In News?

On September 1, 2022, Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey launched the statewide 'Meri Policy Mere Haath' distribution program by providing 'Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana' policy to farmers at a program organized at his residence office in Raipur.

Key Points

  • Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey also distributed policy documents to 35 farmers on the occasion. Under the 'Meri Policy Mere Haath' program, the policy will be distributed to all the insured farmers of the state in the month of September.
  • It is worth mentioning that in the Kharif season 2022, about 13 lakh 95 thousand 369 farmers of the state have got their crops insured under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. In this, Rs 161.89 crore as farmer's share, Rs 535.17 crore as state share and Rs 535.17 crore as central share, thus making a total premium amount of Rs 1232.23 crore.
  • It is noteworthy that in the year 2021-22, a total of 16 lakh 9 thousand 646 farmers from Chhattisgarh had been insured under the scheme for Kharif and Rabi crops, out of which 6 lakh 89 thousand 324 farmers were paid insurance claim of Rs 1340.48 crore as sum insured.
  • Similarly, in the year 2020-21, 17 lakh 3 thousand 992 farmers were insured under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for Kharif and Rabi crops, out of which a claim of Rs 853.81 crore was paid to them on the claims of 6 lakh 18 thousand 640 farmers.
  • At the same time, 18 lakh 52 thousand 853 farmers of Chhattisgarh had insured under the scheme for Kharif and Rabi crops in 2019-20, out of which insurance claim of Rs 1264.34 crore has been paid to 6 lakh 57 thousand 907 farmers.

Chhattisgarh Continues to be among less Unemployed States

Why In News?

According to the new data released by CMIE recently, the unemployment rate of Chhattisgarh is 0.4 percent in August 2022, while the unemployment rate in the country is 8.3 percent.

Key Points

  • Chhattisgarh has been ranked high among the states with the lowest unemployment rate for the past several months. In Chhattisgarh, there is an impact of schemes to balance the urban-rural economy and create new employment opportunities in three and a half years.
  • Chhattisgarh's unemployment rate stood at 0.8 percent in July. Chhattisgarh recorded the lowest unemployment rate of 0.7 percent in May and 0.6 percent in March-April.
  • According to the new data released by CMIE, the unemployment rate in August was 12.8 percent in Bihar, 13.7 percent in Goa, 2.6 percent in Gujarat, 37.3 percent in Haryana, 7.3 percent in Himachal Pradesh, 32.8 percent in Jammu and Kashmir. Karnataka has recorded 3.5 percent and Madhya Pradesh 2.6 percent.
  • The Chhattisgarh government emphasized and implemented such schemes, which would create new employment opportunities. With the formation of the government, schemes like loan waiver and increase in support price were started.
  • Chhattisgarh government has implemented Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Narva-Garwa-Ghurwa-Bari program, Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Farmer Nyay Yojana, formulation of new industrial policy, better arrangement for collection of forest and agricultural produce, Processing and value addition at the local level of produce, establishment of rural industrial parks, increase in the collection rate of minor forest produce and purchase of 65 types of minor forest produce at support price, increase in the remuneration rate of tendu leaf collection, fish farming and lac production as a part of agriculture. Several steps were taken like status, promotion of traditional craftsmen, weavers and entrepreneurs, establishment of C-Mart in every district.
  • Expanding the Godhan Nyay scheme, purchase of cow urine has been started. Fertilizers and pesticides are also being made from the purchased cow urine, which is creating new employment opportunities.
  • Village-built Gothans are also being upgraded into Rural Industrial Parks, where processing units like oil mill, pulse mill, mini rice mill are being set up. Various products are also being manufactured in Gothans.
