Haryana Decorated with Silver Medal for Excellent Performance in International Trade Fair

Why In News?

Haryana has been awarded silver medal in the Swachh Mandap (State) category for outstanding performance at the 42nd India International Trade Fair 2023 held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on November 27, 2023.

Key Points:

  • It may be noted that Haryana has received the award for the first time in the history of organizing the trade fair.
  • At the closing ceremony of the fair, Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director of the Indian Trade Promotion Organization, formed under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, presented the silver medal to Haryana. Anil Chaudhary, General Manager, Trade Fair Authority of Haryana received the award on behalf of Haryana.
  • A total of 51 stalls were set up in the pavilion built in about 600 square meters. While making proper use of the entire area, full attention was also paid to cleanliness along with properly displaying the goods manufactured in the state.
  • Apart from this, products prepared by women's self-help groups in different parts of the state, such as products made from amla, herbal products, basmati rice, handloom products, pickles, marmalade, shoes, meditation room in Faridabad explaining measures of mental peace, hafed and Vita stalls, synonymous with the progress of the cooperative movement, were attracting visitors.
  • The trade fair was held at Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan from November 14 to 27, 2023.

Governor released the book ‘Atulya Haryana’

On November 29, 2023, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya released the book ‘Atulya Haryana’ written by Dr. Krishna Kumar at Haryana Raj Bhavan.

  • Dr. Krishna Kumar, author of the book ‘Atulya Haryana’, is originally a resident of village Jhagadoli in Mahendragarh district.
  • Releasing the book, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that this book will prove to be a good source to know and understand about Haryana.
  • The book Atulya Haryana has been written on the culture, history, art and development of Haryana.
  • The author of the book, Dr. Krishna Kumar, is a journalist of electronic media and before this also three of his books have been published.
  • Dr. Krishna Kumar has received Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India for his work on the folk genres of Haryana and has also been honored by the Dalai Lama, the messenger of peace.

Chief Minister launched Bharat Jan Samvad Sankalp Yatra developed from Fatehpur Biloch village

Why In News

On November 30, 2023, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal launched the Vikas Bharat Jan Samvad Sankalp Yatra by flagging off the van from Fatehpur Billoch village in Faridabad district.

Key Points

  • The objective of this Yatra is to take the welfare schemes of the Central and State Government to every home and to ensure the upliftment of the person sitting in the last row of the society in the spirit of Antyodaya.
  • This yatra will go to every village of all the districts through LED vans and the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be heard during the yatra.
  • During the programs organized in the villages, citizens will also be administered an oath to contribute to the development of India by 2047 and become self-reliant.
  • Short films on the progress of the country and the state will also be shown through LED vans and performances will also be given by folk artists. Apart from this, promising players and individuals who have done excellent work or achieved special achievements will be honoured.
  • During the program, through 'Meri Kahani-Meri Jubani', people who have taken advantage of the schemes will tell how they have raised their standard of living by taking advantage of the schemes.
