The Chief Minister Transferred Rs 51.52 crore Online to the Bank Accounts of the Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)
Why in News?
On July 31, 2023, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transferred Rs 51.52 crore online to the bank accounts of 5,100 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in Gorakhpur.
Key Points:
- This includes 250 beneficiaries of the first installment, 2,602 beneficiaries of the second installment and 2,248 beneficiaries of the third installment.
- On the occasion, he also presented symbolic keys of housing to 12 beneficiaries of the scheme.
- The Uttar Pradesh government has so far provided houses to 42,600 beneficiaries in Gorakhpur district under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
- Out of this, 35,500 houses have been completed and the beneficiaries are living in their houses there.
- In the last 6 years, houses have been provided to 61,184 beneficiaries in rural areas also.
- In this way, about 1 lakh 4 thousand beneficiaries in urban and rural areas have been provided houses under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme.

Chief Minister inaugurates 'Chief Minister Command Center and CM DashBoard'
Why in News?
On July 30, 2023, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 'Mukhyamantri Command Centre and CM Dashboard' at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Bhawan (Annexe), Lucknow.
Key Points:
- The purpose of setting up the Chief Minister's Command Centre & CM Dashboard is to capture data and speed up the efforts started to move the economy of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the satisfaction of the common people has to be linked to it. We have to use technology to solve their problems. With this, every activity of each district can be monitored.
- It is known that the Chief Minister's Command Centre & CM Dashboard will be used to monitor the work being done by officers of different levels in services/ schemes/ projects in various departments from the highest level.
- Cm Dashboard has been set up as an integrated portal for evaluation of officers of various levels in all government projects, through which data based quality monitoring system has been developed.
- A total of 588 projects of 53 departments have been integrated on the CM dashboard. All the 93 departments of the state will be connected to this dashboard in a phased manner.
- These will be reviewed fortnightly by the Chief Secretary and reviewed every month by the Chief Minister's Office.
- With this, the grading of officers posted in districts and fields will also be decided and it also shows in which area hard work is needed.
- The Chief Minister said that earlier due to lack of data collection regarding the works being done by various departments and their progress, accurate information about the development works done in the state was not available. Therefore, the government started capturing the correct data in this regard, so that the correct and good condition of the state can be revealed.

Bihar Chief Minister honoured 29 Litterateurs
Why in News?
On July 31, 2023, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Hindi Sevi Samman and Award Distribution Ceremony. He also honoured 29 writers.
Key Points:
- A total of 29 litterateurs for the year 2020-21 and 2021-22 were honoured with angvastram, medals, citations and cheques at the award distribution ceremony organized by the Cabinet Secretariat (Official Language) Department at 'Lok Samvadash' at 1 Anne Marg.
- The Chief Minister also honoured Dr. Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari with 'Dr. Rajendra Prasad Shikhar Samman', Dr. Ashok Kumar with 'Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Award', Mrinal Pandey with 'Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Award', Dr. Sushila Takbhore with 'B.P. Mandal Award’ under the Hindi Sevi Samman and Award Scheme for the year 2020-21.
- Apart from this, poet Satyanarayan has been given 'Nagarjuna Award', 'Rashtrakavi Dinkar Award' to Ramshreshtha Diwana, 'Phanishwar Nath Renu Award' to Jabir Hussain, 'Mahadevi Verma Award' to Dr. Poonam Singh, 'Babu Gangasharan Singh Award' to Dr. K. Vanaja, 'Vidhakar Kavi Award' to Prachar Sabha (Hyderabad, Telangana) to South Hindi India, 'Vidyapati Award' to Geeta Shree, 'Mohanlal Mahato 'Viyogi' Award to Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sinha Ravi. Bhagwati Prasad Dwivedi was honoured with 'Bhikhari Thakur Award', Dr. Chhaya Sinha with 'Dr. Grierson Award' and Anant Vijay with 'Dr. Father Kamil Bulke Award'.
- Under the Hindi Sevi Samman and Puraskar Scheme for the year 2021-22, Madhusudan Anand has been awarded 'Dr. Rajendra Prasad Shikhar Samman', Balram has been awarded 'Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Award', Dr. Chandra Trikha has received 'Jannayak Thakur Award', Dr. Irshad Kamil has received 'BP Mandal Award', Bhola Pandit Pranayi has been awarded 'Nagarjuna Award', Aniruddha Sinha has been awarded 'Rashtrakavi Dinkar Award', Dr. Shahnaz Fatmi has been awarded 'Phanishwarnath Renu Award'. The Chief Minister Performed Bhoomi Poojan of Handia Barrage Micro Irrigation Project
Why in News?
On July 31, 2023, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan performed Bhoomi Poojan of Handia Barrage Micro Lift Irrigation Project worth more than 1294 crores in Khategaon assembly of Dewas district.
Key Points:
- On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced renaming of Handia Barrage Micro Lift Irrigation Project as Baba Siddhanth Project and Harangaon as Tehsil.
- In the Handia Barrage Micro Lift Irrigation Project, 12.60 cusecs of water will be lifted from village Kundgaon Khurd near Khategaon tehsil of Dewas district from Narmada river and transported to 72 villages of Dewas district and 25 MW electricity will be generated.
- With this, irrigation is proposed in a 35000 hectare area in Khategaon Tehsil from Handia Barrage Project.
- Along with this, the project will be expanded by surveying other left out villages including Harangaon.

Why in News?
On July 31, 2023, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, while inspecting the under-construction project at Geeta Sthali Jyotisar, said that Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra based on Mahabharata theme would be constructed at Geeta Sthali Jyotisar at a cost of Rs 205 crore.
Key Points:
- This project will be world famous and will become a center of attraction for tourists coming from far and wide.
- A budget of Rs 205 crore will be spent by the state government for this project. Out of this budget, an amount of Rs 30 crore has been spent so far. In this Geeta Sthali Jyotisar, out of the budget released by the Government of India, a budget of Rs 29 crore has been spent on the construction work of the building.
- In the building of A block to be built in Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra, depicting the characters of Mahabharata, ticket counter, audio guide, in the building of B block tableaux highlighting the main causes of Mahabharata like Draupadi Cheer Haran, Lakshya Griha etc are included.
- Various techniques including 3D mapping, holography are being used in this project.

Jharkhand won 18 Medals including 11 Gold in Strengthlifting
Why in News?
On July 30, 2023, Jharkhand won a total of 18 medals including 11 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze on the fourth day of the 33rd National Strengthlifting Championship held at Udaipur (Rajasthan).
Key Points:
- In this championship, Shubham Kumar Sahu got the title of champion of champions in the junior category. In the 95 kg junior category, Ayush Kumar created a new national record and won the gold medal.
- In this championship Sneha Kumari won two gold, Sonia two gold, Ayush two gold, Neel Amrit two gold, Shubham two gold and Usman one gold; While Hima won two silver, Pooja, Saraswati, Mohammad Usman and Hameed won one silver each and Aarti got a bronze medal.
- While Jharkhand Secretary Ashok Kumar Gupta was honored with the 'National Referee'.
- It is noteworthy that about 800 players from 22 states across the country have participated in this championship.
- The championship was organized from July 27 to July 30, 2023 at Udaipur (Rajasthan).

Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari became Permanent Judge Chief Justice of Bilaspur High Court

On July 31, 2023, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Ramesh Sinha administered the oath of office to Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari as a permanent judge in the Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur.
Key Points:
- It is worth mentioning that Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari was appointed as Additional Judge in Chhattisgarh High Court on October 08, 2021.
- On July 28, 2023, a notification regarding the appointment of Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari as a permanent judge was issued by the Department of Law and Legislative Affairs, New Delhi.
- It is known that Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari was born on January 11, 1964 in Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh). His father Late Ram Kumar Tiwari retired from the post of entomologist.
- He did B.Com from Durga College, Raipur, LLB from Sau Kusum Tai Dabke Law College, Raipur Chhattisgarh and LLM from Chhattisgarh College, Raipur.
- He was the first student to do LLM in Constitutional Law from Pt. RaviShankar Shukla University, Raipur in the year 1987.
- Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari started his judicial career in 1990 as Civil Judge, Class-II. The first posting took place in Jagdalpur. After this he was posted in Sarangarh. Posted as Civil Judge, Class-I at Janjgir and thereafter as CJM Rajnandgaon.
- Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari served as a District & Sessions Judge in Rajnandgaon and Balod. He was the first District and Sessions Judge of Balod District.
- Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari had also served as the Additional Director of the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy.
- He has also served as Additional Registrar (Classification), Registrar (Inspection & Inquiry) and Registrar Vigilance in the Chhattisgarh High Court.
