State-Level Fairs will be Organized in Jaipur and Divisional Level fairs in Jodhpur and Udaipur

Why In News?

  • On May 30, 2023, in the meeting of Kisan Mela organized at Pant Krishi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Rajasthan's Agriculture and Horticulture Secretary, Dr. Prithvi, the Secretary told that state-level fairs will be organized in Jaipur and divisional-level fairs in Udaipur and Jodhpur.

  • The Government Secretary informed that a state-level fair is being organized at JECC Sitapura, Jaipur from June 16 to 18. Along with this, divisional-level fairs are being organized in Udaipur from 23rd to 24th June and in Jodhpur on 30th June and 01st July.
  • 50 thousand farmers will participate in the state-level fair and 20 thousand each in the divisional-level fair.
  • Dr. Prithvi said that the state government is organizing Krishak Melas in Rajasthan to increase agricultural productivity and introduce farmers to the latest technologies so that people can be brought on a single platform in the field of agriculture, technology and business.
  • Agriculture Commissioner Kanaram said that in the three-day fair, new techniques will be taught to the farmers so that they can get more income at less cost and make the farmers financially strong.
  • The Agriculture Commissioner said that the objective of the fair is to provide farmers a platform for information about the latest technology, promotion of modern agricultural practices, exhibition of new ideas and entrepreneurial solutions in the agriculture sector, as well as access to new business opportunities and avenues for development. have to provide.

  • On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day on 31 May 2023 a state-level function was organized at Rajasthan International Center in Jhalana, Rajasthan.

Key Points:

  • In the program, tobacco control units of Jhalawar, Baran, Dungarpur, Alwar, Sikar, Churu, Hanumangarh and Ajmer districts were honoured for excelling in the field of tobacco control in the year 2022-23.
  • Posters and brochures related to the theme of tobacco prohibition were also released on the occasion.
  • Additional Chief Secretary Shubhra Singh said that this campaign is an important step towards realizing the vision of a healthy Rajasthan.
  • He emphasized the active participation of various departments with education, and local rural and educational bodies in the 60-day action plan to be conducted for tobacco control & prevention.
  • Apart from this, he underlined the need to conduct innovations like organizing competitions to make urban 7 rural wards, gram panchayats, and educational institutions tobacco-free in the state during this action plan.
  • NHM Mission Director Dr. Jitendra Soni said that an action plan will be prepared to make educational institutions tobacco-free within a year and propose tobacco-free with the help of public representatives.
