Bihar Government's Decision to Track Workers
Why in News?
On March 31, 2022, Bihar's Labor Resources Minister Jivesh Kumar informed the Legislative Council that the government would get the tracking of workers working outside Bihar.
Key Points
- He said that a portal is being made for the tracking of the workers, on the basis of which they will be given work after assessing their skills.
- Significantly, during the Corona period, about 15 lakh laborers had returned from other states. Many efforts have been made by the state government to provide employment to them.
- Under the 'Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana', by selecting 16 thousand people, ten lakh rupees are being provided by the government for self-employment, which will provide employment to about one lakh 60 thousand youths.
- Apart from this, arrangements are being made by the government to provide employment to the youths who returned to Bihar during the Corona period by forming 18 clusters.
