Safari Construction For Destitute Cows in Uttar Pradesh

Why in News?

Recently, the Principal Secretary, Livestock Department of Uttar Pradesh has sent a proposal to the state government to make cow-safari across the state to support the destitute cows.

Key Points

  • Under this, a shed will be constructed on the land of the forest area across the state, where there will be a provision for fodder and water for the cows.
  • The consent for the construction of cow safari for the protection of cattle was made in a meeting organized by Sudhir Garg, Principal Secretary, Livestock Department on March 14, in which Chief Veterinary Officer, Dean of Veterinary University, Gaushala Operator and NGO Officers from across the state participated.
  • It is noteworthy that for the protection of cows in Uttar Pradesh, 'Uttar Pradesh Gaushala Yojana' is being operated for the construction of Gaushala, under which a grant (Rs 30 per cow) is provided by the government for opening a cowshed.

Bihar Government's Decision to Track Workers

Why in News?

On March 31, 2022, Bihar's Labor Resources Minister Jivesh Kumar informed the Legislative Council that the government would get the tracking of workers working outside Bihar.

Key Points

  • He said that a portal is being made for the tracking of the workers, on the basis of which they will be given work after assessing their skills.
  • Significantly, during the Corona period, about 15 lakh laborers had returned from other states. Many efforts have been made by the state government to provide employment to them.
  • Under the 'Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana', by selecting 16 thousand people, ten lakh rupees are being provided by the government for self-employment, which will provide employment to about one lakh 60 thousand youths.
  • Apart from this, arrangements are being made by the government to provide employment to the youths who returned to Bihar during the Corona period by forming 18 clusters.

Medifest-2022

Why in News?

On March 31, 2022, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot released the logo of Medifest-2022 in Jaipur.

Key Points

  • The two-day Medifest-2022 will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister on April 5. Apart from this, on April 5, Bhoomipujan and foundation stone of 24-storey new IPD tower and Institute of Cardiology to be built in SMS Hospital will also be laid.
  • Along with this, an exhibition related to the Medical and Health Department and Medical Education Department will also be inaugurated on 5th April at SMS Medical College Ground.
  • During Medifest-2022, experts will give information about various diseases and modern technology used in their treatment in 18 interactive sessions.
  • With the construction of IPD Tower and Cardiology Institute, the capacity of 1200 beds in SMS Hospital will be increased. Along with this, 20 operation theaters, 4 cath labs and 100 OPD registration counters will also increase.

Recently, Madhya Pradesh State Archery Academy players Muskan Kirar, Ragini Marko and Srishti Singh have been selected in the Indian Archery team.

  • All the three international players have been trained under the guidance of coach Richpal Singh Salaria of the State Archery Academy, Jabalpur.
  • Muskan Kirar has won a silver medal in Asian Games (2018), Ragini Marco has won gold medal in mixed event at Youth World Championship (Madrid, Spain) and Srishti Singh has won a medal at national level with participation in World University Games in Italy.
  • Muskan Kirar is originally from Jabalpur, who was awarded Eklavya Award in the year 2018 and Vikram Award in the year 2019 by the state government.
  • It is worth mentioning that the Indian team will participate in five World Cups (different stages) and Asian Games (China) this year.

3 Percent Reservation in Total Group-C jobs Under Sports Quota

Why in News?

On March 31, 2022, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the State Government has decided to restore 3 percent reservation in total Group-C jobs under sports quota for outstanding sportspersons of the state.

Key Points

  • It is noteworthy that 10 percent reservation for sports quota for category-D jobs is already in progress in the state.
  • The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government would provide jobs to outstanding sports persons in future also under its 'Padak Lao-Pad Pao' programme.
  • With the decision of 3 percent reservation in Group-C jobs, about 400 to 450 sportspersons will get jobs every year.
  • Players will also be given the option to choose their favorite department for Group-C jobs by the government and they will be given relaxation on the basis of their priority and they can be appointed on the basis of their option.

Portal of 'Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme' Launched

Why in News?

On March 31, 2022, Haryana's Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister JP Dalal launched the portal of a new Horticulture Crop Insurance Scheme by the name of 'Mukhyamantri Horticulture Insurance Scheme'.

Key Points

  • Under this scheme, farmers will be compensated for the damage caused to their crops due to adverse weather and natural calamities.
  • Adverse weather factors and natural calamities, such as hailstorm, temperature, frost, water factors (floods, cloudburst, canal/drain break, water logging), storms and fires, which cause crop damage, are included in the plan.
  • 21 crops are covered under this scheme, which includes 14 vegetables (tomato, onion, potato, cauliflower, peas, carrot, okra, ghee, bitter gourd, brinjal, green chilli, capsicum, cabbage, radish), 2 spices (turmeric, garlic) ) and 5 fruits (mango, tangerine, plum, guava, litchi).
  • This scheme will be optional for all those farmers who are registered under 'Meri Fasal Mera Byora'.
  • Under the scheme, the sum assured will be Rs 30,000 per acre for vegetables and spices and Rs 40,000 per acre for fruits and the farmer's contribution/share will be only 2.5 percent of the assured amount, which is Rs 750 in vegetables and Rs 1000 per acre in fruits.

Archaeological remains of Hazaribagh

Why in News?

Recently, the Archaeological Department of India has decided to study the special script written in Buddhist remains and sculptures found 72 years ago at Daihar and Sohra in Hazaribagh of Jharkhand.

Key Points

  • For this, script expert Dr. Arpita Ranjan has been sent by the Archaeological Department of India, so that the period of the idols can be traced.
  • It is worth mentioning that in 1950, the then chieftain Jagarnath Singh and other villagers had received many idols from Daihar and Sohra. Many attempts were made to study them, but they were not successful.
  • This area is full of archaeological relics related to Buddhism. For example, the image from Daihar, worshiped by the villagers as Kamala Mata, is the Buddhist goddess Marichi. Also the idol found from Sohra, worshiped by the villagers as Samokhar Mata, is Tara, the goddess of Buddhism. At the same time, Jharkhand's largest Buddhist stupa has been identified in Manggarh.
  • In view of its religious importance, it has been included in the Buddhist circuit.

Chief Minister launched 4 new sub-divisions and 23 new tehsils in the state

Why in News?

On March 31, 2022, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated 4 new revenue sub-divisions and 23 new tehsils in the state in a program organized at his residence office.

Key Points

  • Till now there were 96 sub-divisions and 179 tehsils in Chhattisgarh. With the formation of a total of 100 sub-divisions and 23 new tehsils in the state with 4 new sub-divisions, there are now a total of 202 tehsils in the state.
  • With the introduction of new sub-divisions and tehsils, there will be facility in the smooth implementation of government schemes and tightening of administrative work.
  • The Chief Minister launched Tokapal in Jagdalpur district, Marwahi in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, Bhaiyathan in Surajpur district and Mainpur sub-division in Gariaband district.

Online monitoring portal launched to review the resolution of revenue cases

Why in News?

On March 31, 2022, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched an online monitoring portal to review the disposal of revenue cases in the state within the stipulated time frame.

Key Points

  • Through this portal, continuous monitoring of other revenue works including transfer, account division, demarcation, diversion and tree cutting can be done by senior officers including Chief Minister's Office, Revenue Minister's office.
  • An online monitoring portal has been arranged in Bhuiyan software for redressal of unresolved cases of conversion, account division, demarcation, diversion and tree felling outside the time limit.
  • For timely disposal of cases, monitoring will be done directly from the level of Chief Minister's Office, Revenue Minister's Office, Chief Secretary's Office, Secretary Revenue Department, Director Land Records, Divisional Commissioner and District Collector through the monitoring portal.

Doppler radar work completed in Surkanda temple area of Tehri district

Why in News?

Recently, Director of State Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said that the work of installing Doppler radar in Surkanda Mandir area of Tehri district has been completed.

Key Points

  • At present, the work of radar testing is going on, which is expected to start smoothly within a month.
  • It is worth mentioning that after the Kedarnath disaster of June 2013, the need of radar was being felt in the mountainous area for accurate weather forecast, but due to non-selection of land for establishing radar in the area, the radar was not installed. It could have happened.
  • Doppler radar will give information about the possibility of heavy rain, hailstorm and strong winds about two hours in advance.
  • The radar will be capable of recording data on weather activities within a radius of 100 km.
  • Accurate weather information from the radar will also be given to the people traveling on the Chardham circuit.
