- It is noteworthy that in 1669-70, the Jats of the Mathura region revolted under the leadership of the local landlord Gokula. Religion was the main factor behind this revolt, as the local official of the imperial Mughal government, Abdul Nabi, had destroyed Hindu temples and insulted their women.
- The Jat rebellion took place at a time when the Mughal government was not weak in any way. The Mughal army pursued the Jats and leader Gokul was captured and killed. Despite this, the rebellion could not be completely suppressed.
- It should be noted that in order to increase public awareness about the contributions of local historical personalities, public places, buildings and roads etc. are being named after those personalities. In this context, a road and a square in Kirawali have also been named after Gokula Jat.

MoU between Department of Labor Resources and Tata Technology

- On January 31, 2022, the Labor Resources Department of Bihar tied up with Tata Technology to equip 149 government ITIs across the state with state-of-the-art facilities and to connect students with better employment.
Key Points
- Bihar's Labor Resource Minister Jivesh Kumar said that after this agreement, students studying in government ITI will be able to get employment in the country and the world on the basis of today's technology and the country will get better human resources.
- He said that Bihar has become the second state in the country to have such an agreement. Earlier such a program was started in Karnataka.
- After this agreement, the technology landscape of the state will change. Better skills and employment opportunities will be available to the youth of the state. It will also be established as a potential investment for those industry establishments in the state who are willing to adopt Industry 4.0 and smart technologies for manufacturing.
- Now ITI will facilitate 23 new technology advanced business courses. The total investment under this project will be Rs 4,606 crore.
- On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Vandana Kini said that the state government aims to train and empower the youth of Bihar so that they can find new technology solutions in Bihar and at the same time generate employment by attracting investment from companies. .
- He said that in the first phase, 60 centers would be upgraded by December 2022. At the same time, the work of developing the remaining 89 centers will be started in January 2023, which will be completed by December 31, 2023. There are 16 companies as partners in this work, which will work to develop ITI.

Launch of DST Homeschooling Podcast

- On January 31, 2022, Rajasthan's Minister of State for Science and Technology Zahida Khan launched the innovative program DST-Homeschooling Podcast online. Initially, through this program, the syllabus of science subject from class 6 to 10 of the state will be available in Hindi and English language in a simple way.

- Students of remote, tribal areas and western Rajasthan will also benefit from this podcast program and this podcast will prove useful for those students who do not have much internet bandwidth.
- This podcast will be available free of cost to all the students and all the podcasts will also be made available on the social media of the department such as Facebook, Instagram, through the link provided by the department, students will not only be able to listen to the entire science syllabus on the podcast but questions-answers will also be made available to them.
- The Minister of State for Science and Technology informed that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced to establish Science-Space Club in more than 1700 Government Senior Secondary Schools with Science stream of the State in the year 2021-22 to connect science with technology.
- This program will benefit all those children, who are involved in school education or have not been able to join school education due to any reason. The syllabus of science subject from class 6 to 10 created through this program can be understood without books only by listening. Therefore, it will prove to be a good medium for the children to acquire knowledge.

27% OBC Reservation Implemented in Direct Recruitment in Madhya Pradesh

- On January 30, 2022, the Madhya Pradesh State Government issued an order to implement OBC 27 percent reservation in state level and district level direct recruitment.
Key Points
- According to the order of the General Administration Department (GAD), the posts which are left vacant are 16% for SC, 20% for ST, 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 10% for EWS and the rest Will be filled from the posts under unreserved category. Along with this, a total of 33 percent posts will be reserved for women.
- The Madhya Pradesh government had increased the reservation for OBCs from 14% to 27%. This reservation will be considered effective from the date of March 8, 2019. Similarly, EWS reservation will be deemed to be applicable from July 2, 2019.
- Earlier on September 9, 2019, the Madhya Pradesh government had implemented an enhanced 27% reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) in all departments except for the recruitment of School Education, Health and Medical Education Department, on which the Madhya Pradesh High Court had implemented was banned.
- It is noteworthy that earlier in Madhya Pradesh, OBC category used to get 14 percent reservation in direct recruitment. At the same time, EWS did not get any reservation.

3 Students of Bokaro Selected for Project Inspire Award

- On January 31, 2022, three students of DPS Bokaro, Utkarsh Raj and Abhitit Sharan of class IX and Anjali Kumari of class VIII were selected for INSPIRE Award- Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge (MANAK).

- These three students will represent their school DPS Bokaro in the district level exhibition and project competition to be organized by the District Education Authority.
- Significantly, the INSPIRE Award - MANAK is executed by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) along with National Innovation Foundation - India (NIF).
- The objective of the award is to target one million original ideas/innovations rooted in science and social applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among students studying in classes 6 to 10.
- In this, each selected student will get 10,000 rupees and they will also participate in the district level competition. Further students will be shortlisted to participate in the state level competition, finally one thousand students will get an opportunity to showcase their innovations at the national level.
- Sixty innovative projects will be fully incubated (patent filing, value addition in technology and product development, etc.) by NIF and will be showcased at the Annual Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE).

58 Roads and 26 Bridges in the Insurgency Affected Area of Jharkhand got Approval from the Center
Why in News
- On January 31, 2022, the Union Ministry of Rural Development approved 361 km road plans and 26 bridge plans for the extreme insurgency affected areas of Jharkhand. Under this, a total of 58 roads will be constructed in the state.
Key Points
- An official who attended the meeting said that these roads are to be built under the second phase of the Centre's project RCPLWE scheme for extreme insurgency affected areas. The DPR (Detailed Project Report) of the schemes was presented by the Jharkhand government, which was approved.
- For the construction of a total of 58 rural roads and 26 bridges, the central government will allocate an amount of Rs 188 crore, while the Jharkhand government will give Rs 127 crore.
- Apart from this, the central government has given an additional 71 km. Road plans have also been approved. For this, a meeting will be held at the central level now. After the consensus is reached in the meeting of two-three phases, it will be finally agreed.
- Nine roads will be constructed from RCPLWEA at Badgad and Ramkanda in insurgency affected Garhwa district. The total cost of construction of these 78 km long roads will be around Rs 72 crore.
- It is noteworthy that in October 2021, a plan for the construction of 125 roads and 71 bridges was approved under the first phase of this scheme in the Naxal affected area of the state. An amount of Rs 765 crore has been sanctioned on these schemes.

- A new record has been set for purchasing 94.57 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in the current season of procurement of paddy on support price in Chhattisgarh till January 31, 2022. In the last season 2020-21, 92.803 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured as of today.
Key Points
- It is noteworthy that last year till date 20.54 lakh farmers had sold paddy, whereas this year paddy has been purchased from 21.38 lakh farmers. So far, Rs 17,906.33 crore has been released to farmers under a bank linking system in lieu of paddy purchase.
- Keeping in view the demand and need of the farmers, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has decided to extend the date of purchase of paddy by one more week for the convenience of the farmers. Now paddy will be procured from registered farmers till February 7.
- The state government has set a target of purchasing 105 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from more than 24 lakh farmers this year. Till now 54.99 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted by the millers through DO and TO.
- The state of Chhattisgarh has also created a new record in the matter of depositing rice in the central pool. So far 14.46 lakh metric tonnes of quality rice has been deposited in the central pool. These include 8.03 lakh metric tonnes of rice stored in the Food Corporation of India and 6.42 lakh metric tonnes in the Civil Supplies Corporation. On the other hand, Chhattisgarh has to deposit 61.65 lakh metric tonnes of Arva rice in the central pool this year.
- It is noteworthy that the procurement of paddy from farmers on support price has started from December 1, 2021 in the state of Chhattisgarh. A record more than 24 lakh farmers have registered for selling paddy this year. The registered paddy area is also more than 30 lakh 15 thousand hectares.

- Recently, an official of National Highway Logistics Management Limited said that with the completion of the land survey work of the ropeway till Hemkund Sahib, the design work of the ropeway has also been started.

- The pilgrimage to Hemkund Sahib is presently extremely difficult and troublesome, as the pilgrims travel from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib by covering a distance of 19 km. In such a situation, the construction of the ropeway will make the journey to Hemkund Sahib very easy.
- In this context, a 12.6 km ropeway from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib will be constructed at a cost of Rs 764 crore to facilitate travel up to Hemkund Sahib by the Central Government.
- The construction of Hemkund Sahib Ropeway will also facilitate access to Valley of Flowers, as there is only one track from Govindghat to Ghangaria (13 km) to reach Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers. One way from Ghangaria leads to Hemkund Sahib and the other way to the Valley of Flowers.
- It is noteworthy that Hemkunt Sahib is a famous pilgrimage place of Sikhs located in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand. The Gurdwara Shri Hemkund Sahib is adorned here. This place is mentioned in the Dasam Granth composed by Guru Gobind Singh.
