Plan to set up computer labs in 10,000 schools of the state

Why in News?
According to information received from the media on September 3, 2023, the Bihar Education Department has prepared an action plan to set up computer labs in ten thousand government schools of the state.
Key Points:
- According to the information, Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department KK Pathak has instructed the District Magistrates and Deputy Development Commissioners to set up computer labs in selected schools.
- Students of classes 6 to 8 will get the facility of this lab. A lab of 20 computers will be set up in secondary schools and 10-10 in middle schools.
- In the first phase of this scheme, computers will be installed in 4707 schools.
- According to the Education Department, work is also being done to connect 100 percent students of class 6 and above i.e. up to 100 percent in government schools of the state with computer education and training. This will benefit about 75 lakh students.
