2 villages of Madhya Pradesh will get awards in responsible tourism

Why in News?
According to information received from the Public Relations Department of Madhya Pradesh on September 2, 2023, under the Rural Tourism Project of the Tourism Board, two villages, Mandla of Panna and Sabarwani of Chhindwara will be awarded the award for outstanding contribution in various categories by ICRT (International Centre for Responsible Tourism).
Key Points:
- Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture & Managing Director Tourism Board Shiv Shekhar Shukla said that Mandla was nominated in the best category for meaningful relations and best for local sourcing, crafts & food. Sabarwani was nominated in the best-positive tourism category for nature.
- The two villages will be felicitated at a function during the BLTM trade show in New Delhi on September 30. This award has been given for the Indian sub-continent region.
- The Responsible Tourism Awards- 2023 awards are divided into four regions - Africa, India, Latin America and the rest of the world. The winner of each region will be nominated for the global awards to be held in November.
