'Vachan Purti' mission

Why in News?
On April 7, 2022, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the Mission Vachan Purti to give the rights of land purchased by the families of Kashmiri Pandits in Sector-2 of Bahadurgarh district from 1991 to 1993.
Key Points
- While making this historic announcement during the state level program, the Chief Minister handed over the ownership papers to the specially invited 182 family beneficiaries.
- This entitlement was paid to them through a draw, after verification of the measurements of the land recorded at that time on April 6, 2022.
- Apart from this, some families have already got their land. Thus till date, through this entire process, the promise given by the state government to 209 families has been fulfilled.
- It is noteworthy that after making some suitable amendments in the year 1997, some plots were issued in favor of Kashmiri Pandits, but the families who did not get the land at that time, had to wait for almost three decades.
