On February 14, 2023, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers inaugurated Nano Urea Liquid plants of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO-IFFCO) at Aonla and Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Key points
- Addressing the programme on the occasion, Dr. Mandaviya said that nano urea will ensure the progress of farmers in the coming time as well as increase their income.
- Highlighting the benefits of Nano Urea, the Union Minister said that it is the best green technology that provides a solution to pollution. It protects the soil from spoilage as well as increases production. So, it's best for farmers.
- He further said that the government's expert committee has approved nano dye ammonium phosphate (DAP) and soon it will replace normal (DAP). Nano-DAP will immensely benefit farmers and will be available at half the price than DAP.
- Dr. Mandaviya said it is an alternative fertiliser. When normal urea is used, only 35% nitrogen (of urea) is used by the yield and unused urea adversely affects the soil. This is reducing soil productivity and crop production has stabilized, so it was necessary to choose alternative fertilizers.
