Training Institute for Drone Pilots

Why in News?
- In a meeting of the Board of Directors of Drone Imaging and Information Service of Haryana Limited (DRIISHYA) held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on April 14, 2022, it was decided to set up a training institute under the aegis of DRIISHYA to provide training to drone pilots in Haryana.
Key Points
- This institute will prove to be helpful in meeting the various training needs of personnel of DRIISHYA and other organizations.
- Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the establishment of Drishya is a unique beginning in the state, as now with the help of drones, the extension of the area can be traced as well as illegal encroachments can be controlled.
- While directing the concerned officers to ensure speedy disposal of various types of survey and imaging work, the Chief Minister said that apart from the Revenue Department use of drones should also be ensured in other departments like Urban Local Bodies, Power, Disaster Management, Mining, Forest Transport, Town and Country Planning, Agriculture etc.
- It is worth mentioning that Haryana is the first state to form a separate corporation to provide faster speed to UAV powered governance applications.
