Why In News?
Based on the success in the National Merit Mines Scholarship Examination on February 10, 2023, the State Education Center has set the ranking of the districts and blocks of the state.
Key points
- Damoh district stood first in the ranking announced on the basis of this examination, while Niwari district has been at the bottom.
- Along with the districts, the performance of development blocks has also been examined at the state level. According to which 'Rewa' development block of Rewa district headquarters is at the first place and 'Bajag' block of Dindori district is at the last place by performing the most excellently in the state.
- It is noteworthy that in the National Means Merit Scholarship Examination, students studying in class 8 of government schools are included and successful students in this examination get a scholarship of Rs 9 to from class 12,000 per year 12 for their further studies.

- The state education center has determined the ranking of districts and development blocks by conducting a detailed analysis of the result of this examination, in which the data of the districts has been analysed on the basis of 4 main criteria.
- In proportion to the total enrolled students, the number of students appearing in the examination, the average score of the result, the excellent score of the examination result and the number of students who came in the top 100 in the state merit list were kept as criteria.
