The Chief Minister Felicitated 24 Newly Promoted State Police Service Officers in the Indian Police Service (IPS) with a Batch

Why In News?
On July 24, 2023, Chief Minister Hemant Soren felicitated 24 police officers of the newly promoted State Police Service in the Indian Police Service (IPS) by putting badges in the piping ceremony program organized in the auditorium of the Ministry of Jharkhand.
Key Points::
- It is known that for the first time in Jharkhand, 24 state police service officers have been promoted to IPS simultaneously.
- Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that among the 24 officers promoted to the Indian Police Service, Sarojini Lakda and Amelda Ekka are two such women officers who have come a long way from being mere constables to becoming IPS officers.
- The journey of these two women IPS officers will prove to be a source of inspiration and a milestone for the state police personnel.
- The Chief Minister said that about 158 posts of IPS have been fixed in the state, out of which 110 posts are recruited directly from UPSC, while on 48 posts the officers of the State Police Service are promoted and join the IPS service.
- Newly promoted Indian Police Service officers who were honored with badges by Chief Minister Hemant Soren include Sarojini Lakra, Emelda Ekka, Sadiq Anwar Rizvi, Arvind Kumar Singh, Vikas Kumar Pandey and Vijay Ashish Kujur (all 2017 batch), Deepak Kumar Sharma, Rajkumar Mehta, Shambhu Kumar Singh, Ajay Kumar Sinha, Anudeep Singh, Pujya Prakash, Sahdev Saw, Amit Kumar Singh, Ajit Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Deepak Kumar Pandey and Animesh Naithani (all batch 2019), Ajay Kumar, Arif Ekram, Dr. Vimal Kumar, Manish Toppo, Kailash Karmali and Pitambar Singh Kherwar (All Batch 2020).
