- Recently, Madhya Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Prem Singh Patel has instructed the departmental officers to ensure vaccination of 4 to 8 months old cow-buffalo calves in Brucella vaccination campaign.

- Animal Husbandry Minister Prem Singh Patel informed that free Brucella vaccination campaign is being run in the state from January 1 to January 31, 2022 under the National Livestock Health and Disease Control Program for the prevention of Brucellosis disease. Appealing to the livestock farmers to take full advantage of the campaign, Minister Prem Singh Patel said that Brucellosis disease is a reproductive disease of cattle and buffalo, which is caused by the bacteria Brucellosis abortus.
- Symptoms include fever, late pregnancy abortion, sterility, heat delay, loss of calves due to obstruction of lactation, and decreased milk production.
- Minister Prem Singh Patel said that by vaccinating once in a lifetime, bovine calves of 4 to 8 months of age can be saved from Brucellosis disease.
- Minister Prem Singh Patel has directed the officers of the Animal Husbandry Department to ensure Brucella vaccination of all the calves of cow and buffalo that fall in the advanced age group of their area. Vaccination will not only keep cows, buffaloes healthy, but milk production will also increase.
