State-of-the-Art Courts will be Built in 10 Districts

Why In News?

  • According to information received from the media on November 17, 2022, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials to construct court buildings with grand and state-of-the-art facilities in 10 districts of the state.

  • According to the information, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officers of the Public Works and Planning Department to submit a detailed presentation within 15 days for the construction of new court buildings in 10 districts including Agra, Auraiya, Hapur, Kaushambi, Mahoba, Bahraich, Chandauli, Hathras.
  • Instructing the officers, the Chief Minister has said that the design of these buildings should not only be beautiful, but they should be made in vertical shape, so that land can be saved. Also, they should be manufactured keeping in mind the needs of the coming 25 to 30 years.
  • The Chief Minister directed the officials that along with beautiful, clean and airy rooms for judges, good chambers for advocates, big library, canteen, parking and seminar hall should also be constructed in the new court buildings. The new court buildings to be constructed should be developed as a model not only in the state but also in the country by making them fully equipped.
  • The Chief Minister has also directed the officials to construct new court buildings in 10 districts as well as residential colonies for judges and other judicial officers and employees. It has also asked all courts and registrar offices to be upgraded as e-offices.
  • The Chief Minister has asked the officials to include any good system in any court building in the country in the architecture. Especially in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, be sure to look at the court buildings.
  • He has asked to create three categories for new court buildings, in which 40-70 lakh population, 25-40 lakh population and districts with less than 25 lakh population, according to the needs of the next 25 years, the design of court buildings to be prepared.
  • The Chief Minister has also given instructions to keep the security arrangements of all the courts of the state tight. He has also directed the District Magistrates and Police Captains of all the districts to hold regular meetings with the District Judge. These meetings will be presided over by the District Judge and presence of DM and SP or SSP is mandatory.
