State-level Coordination Committee on Crop Insurance meeting was organised

Why in News?
On 12 May 2023, a meeting of the State Level Coordination Committee on Crop Insurance was organized under the chairmanship of Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.
Key Points:
- The Additional Chief Secretary took important decisions in the meeting to make 'Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana' farmer friendly, to be implemented from Kharif 2023 to Rabi 2025-26, so that the yojana could be made more simple and transparent for the people of the state.
- Giving importance to the use of technology in the meeting, the proposal to appoint Harsac as a technical partner of the department for technical support was approved and a provision will be made to take complaints of farmers through the portal in the tender to be issued for the next session.
- Keeping in view the transparency of the scheme, the Additional Chief Secretary recommended increasing the time for videography of crop harvesting experiments and raising objections in local disaster survey/harvesting experiments from 72 hours to 144 hours & for the insurance company from 48 hours to 96 hours.
- In this meeting, the insurance amount of the crops covered under the scheme was also decided. The details of which are given below:
