Recently, Shubham Goyal of Jharkhand has been selected for the Prime Minister's Research Fellow (PMRF).
Key Points
- The Prime Minister's Research Fellows was started by the Ministry of Human Resource Development to promote research work in the country.
- This scheme was first announced in the budget of 2018-19.
- Under this scheme, a fellowship of Rs 70,000 per month is provided for the first two years, Rs 75,000 per month in the third year and Rs 80,000 per month in the fourth and fifth years. Also 2 lakh rupees per year (total Rs 10 lakh for 5 years) are provided as research grants.
