Rs 120.80 Crore Approved for Works Related to Construction of New Green Field Airport in Kota district

Why In News?
- On December 11, 2022 Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved a proposal of Rs 120.80 crore for works related to the construction of the proposed new green field airport in Kota district of the state.
Key Points
- The Chief Minister has also approved a financial provision of about Rs 40 crore for shifting the EHV power lines in the new Green Field Airport area.
- According to the proposal, Rs 120.80 crore has been sanctioned for the works related to the construction of new green field airport in Kota, out of which Rs 45 crore will be borne by the Kota Urban Development Trust and the remaining Rs 75.80 crore by the state government.
- In addition, the work of shifting of EHV power lines coming in the airport area will be done by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. About Rs 40 crore will be spent for this work from the ROE of Rajasthan State Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited.
- With this decision of the Chief Minister, Kota, as an educational and industrial city, will be connected by interstate air route.
