Why In News?
- According to the information received from the media on November 13, 2022, under the Government of India's National Rope-way Program ranges, to promote tourism in five major hilly areas of the state including Lugu Buru Ghantabari of Bokaro district and Maithon of Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. Ropeway will be constructed.

- For the construction of the ropeway, the Road Construction Department of Jharkhand has prepared its proposal and sent it to the Government of India.
- In view of the geographical structure of the state, the remote hilly areas, the Road Construction Department of the state has decided to include these five projects under the National Ropeway Program Ranges of the Government of India and after getting approval from the Government of India, further action will be taken towards its construction.
- In Jharkhand, Maithon in Dhanbad, Lugu Buru Ghantabari of Bokaro, Netarhat, Saranda (Noamundi) and Dalma hill areas are being included in the first phase.
- About four km in Netarhat (Queen of Chotanagpur) of the state. To build a long rope-way and about five km in Saranda of Noamundi in West Singhbhum. Proposal has been sent for construction of long ropeway.
- According to the department, it is the largest Sal forest in Asia. Apart from this, five km in Dalma near Jamshedpur. A proposal for a long ropeway has been prepared and sent.
- It is known that Dalma is a wildlife sanctuary.
- The Road Construction Department has taken about one and a half km in Maithon. The proposal sent to build a long ropeway has been described as Spoon Island.
- In Lugu Buru Ghantabadi in Bokaro district, which is four km. A long rope-way will be built, it will be built at Lugu Hill in Gomia block, where a large number of Santhali tribals gather for religious purposes on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.
