Why In News?
On February 10, 2023, SP Saurabh Kumar launched the Rakshak app under bit policing at the SP office located in Simdega district secretariat of Jharkhand.
Key points
- Simdega district is the first in Jharkhand where the Rakshak app has been launched at the departmental level under bit policing.
- Through bit policing, the QR code of the Rakshak app will be installed at the main institutions, establishments in urban and rural areas, and places where there is a possibility of crime. All the policemen who will be involved in the patrol team will have to go to the said place and scan the Rakshak app. This will increase the activity of the police.
- If the activity of the police increases, then surely the common citizens will benefit from the point of view of security.
- Apart from the government NGO of the district, various types of sites have been selected to install the QR code of the Rakshak App.
- Through the Rakshak app, the police will be helped in crime control of the district. At the same time, the police will be more prepared than ever to provide security to the common citizens.
- This application can be used in the event of an emergency, where on clicking a button, this application will send the current location to 4 different (relative/friends) numbers and will also start a voice call to the emergency number.
