Why In News?
- On October 20, 2022, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot concluded the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games, which started from Luni Panchayat Samiti of Jodhpur in the state from August 29, at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

- Chief Minister Gehlot said that a new history has been created in the country with rural Olympics. In this, more than 30 lakh villagers of all age groups showed strength in the field and about 10 lakh women took part and flew high.
- It is noteworthy that the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic Games have been organized for 1 month 22 days in the state. In this game, 6 sports (Kabaddi, Shooting Ball, Tennis Ball Cricket, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Hockey) were included and more than 30 lakh women and men of all age groups and about 3700 players showed their sports skills in the state level competition.
- The Chief Minister felicitated the winning teams (first three places) and the best players with trophies, mementos at the closing ceremony.

- In this ceremony, the certificate for the World Record was also handed over to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on behalf of the World Book of Records London. This certificate was received by him for the participation of more than 30 lakh players in the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympics and simultaneously organizing sports across the state.
- On the occasion of the closing ceremony, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Ashok Chandna said that many important decisions including out-of-turn appointments to sportspersons, reservation in jobs, increase in the honor amount of medal winners have been taken in the state, which is also increasing the number of players in the state.
- On the closing ceremony, Chief Minister Gehlot said that Rajiv Gandhi urban Olympics will also be organized from January 26 in the encouragement of sports and sportspersons.
