Why In News?
On July 10, 2023, according to the information received from the media, Mandar of Jarjata village located in Raidih block of Gumla district of Jharkhand will get GI tag.

- Sushant Gaurav, Deputy Commissioner of Gumla District said that the work has been started to give Mandar of Jarjata village a different identity in the whole country. The process of getting GI tag to this mandar has been started, so that this mandar will be recognized in the whole country and Raidih block and Gumla district will also be known as Mandar.
- Deputy Commissioner Sushant Gaurav said that a center will also be set up in the village, where the people of the village will collectively form a group and do the work of making mandars. You will be able to easily sell your handmade mandarin and increase your income.
- It is known that Mandar is an ancient and very popular instrument of Jharkhand. It is played here by people of almost all communities.
