Jharkhand has been ranked third in the category of large states in terms of development in the recently released Public Appearances Index, 2021.

The Public Appearances Index has been calculated on the basis of three basic pillars – Equity, Growth/Growth and Sustainability.
In this, Jharkhand has been ranked 9^th in the list of big states in the equity column, while Gujarat has got the first and Uttar Pradesh has got the last position.
Jharkhand has performed exceptionally well in the development/growth column and has been ranked 3^rd in the big states category, as compared to 14^th position last year.
Jharkhand has been ranked 15^th among the big states in the sustainability column, while Kerala is at the first and Uttar Pradesh is at the last position.
In the overall ranking, Kerala has got the first and Tamil Nadu has got the second place.
