'PoudhaTuhar Dwar': Forest Minister Flagged off the Vehicles for Spreading Greenery | 11 Jul 2023

On July 10, 2023, Chhattisgarh's Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Akbar flagged off two greenery propagation vehicles filled with plants of various species at his residence office in Shankar Nagar of the capital under the 'PoudhaTuhar Dwar' scheme.

- It is known that with the aim of encouraging people towards a clean environment and tree plantation in Chhattisgarh, the work of distribution of saplings is going on across the state under the scheme of 'Poudha Tuhar Dwar' by the Forest Department.
- Taking a special initiative by the Forest Department, under the 'Paudha Tuhar Dwar' scheme, saplings will be delivered free of cost to homes under Raipur Municipal Corporation.
- It is worth noting that this scheme will run for about one and a half months, in which plants of Amla, Karanj, Neem, Gulmohar, Jamun, Munga, Kachnar, Guava, Sitaphal, Peltafarm, Lemon, Almond etc. will be made available to the general public as per the demand. Saplings will be provided free of cost for plantation after reaching the shop, office, factory etc.
- It is noteworthy that in the last year, 10207 plants of Jam, Amla, Lemon, Custard Apple, Jackfruit, Bael, Jamun, Neem, Kachnar, Gulmohar and Munga were distributed to 2164 beneficiaries in 92 places under the 'PoudhaTuhar Dwar' scheme. Under the MGNREGA scheme, 571974 plants were also distributed free of cost to government/semi-government, municipal corporations, educational institutions and other beneficiaries.
- A total of 135965 saplings have been distributed free of cost to 29 government/semi-government, educational institutions and other beneficiaries this year under the MGNREGA scheme.
- Under this scheme, the forest department is encouraged to plant trees by providing saplings to the general public for plantation in Raipur Municipal Corporation area.
