Outstanding Players in Bihar will Directly become Grade one Officers

Why In News?
On February 9, 2023, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet at Pataliputra Sports Complex in Patna. On this occasion, he announced that the outstanding players of the state will be directly made Grade One Officers.
Key points
- Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the players Grade 3 till now were being given jobs in, but the Bihar government will directly give jobs to the players of the state who have won medals at the national and international level at the post of SDM, DSP or equivalent.
- This will increase the attraction of youth towards sports in the state and national and international level players will emerge. So far, the government has given jobs to 235 players of the state from the sports quota.
- It is worth mentioning that every year there is a sports honor program for players and coaches, in which good players and coaches are honored .
- The National Strickt Junior Athletics Meet (NIJM) is the world's largest sporting talent search event. It is being organized for the first time in Bihar. Six thousand athletes from 600 districts of the country, including 600 participants from Bihar, are participating in these sports meet.
