Why in News?
On June 22, 2023, the President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, awarded the National Florence Nightingale Award-2022 for her dedication & outstanding service in the nursing sector to Neeraj Tambolia, Senior Nursing Officer, J.K. Lone Hospital, Jaipur, at a function in New Delhi.

- President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu has given the National Florence Nightingale Award to a total of 30 nurses for the years 2022 and 2023 at the function.
- Neeraj Tambolia, Senior Nursing Officer, working in J.K. Lone Hospital has done excellent work in health services during his 31 years of service. He has been conferred the National Florence Nightingale Award 2022 for his relentless cooperation in the field of health education along with his selfless service and courage to save those injured in road accidents, evacuation of patients from short circuit fire in ICU & to save patients during corona.
- It is known that the National Florence Nightingale Award, instituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 1973, is given to nurses & nursing professionals in recognition of their meritorious services rendered to the society.
