- On October 28, 2021, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the 'National Tribal Dance Festival' and 'Rajyotsava, 2021' by lighting the lamp at the Science College ground in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.

- On the occasion of the inauguration of the National Tribal Dance Festival, dancers from different states and countries performed an attractive march past with traditional costumes and musical instruments.
- On this occasion, folk dancers from Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, and dancers from Uzbekistan, Swaziland gave a spectacular performance. Artists from the folk dancers of Himachal Pradesh honored the Governor and the Chief Minister by presenting them Himachali caps and shawls.
- In this 'National Tribal Dance Festival' and Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava, to be held from 28 October to 1 November at the Science College ground in Raipur, artists from 27 states and 6 union territories of the country as well as 7 countries - Eswatini, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Around 1500 artists from Uganda, Mali and Palestine are participating.
- The Chief Minister said that 42 tribes and 5 special backward tribes reside in the state of Chhattisgarh. Their population is one-third of the total population of the state. All tribes have distinct cultural identity. Their dialect, festival, dance, deities are also different.
- The Chief Minister said that this is the second event of the National Dance Festival. The festival was organized for the first time in the year 2019, which was launched by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
