Why In News?

  • On August 25, 2022, the Ministry of Education, Government of India released the final list of names of 46 teachers from different states of the country selected for the National Teacher Awards 2022. It also includes the names of two teachers from Rajasthan.

  • President Draupadi Murmu will present the National Awards for the year 2022 to selected teachers and teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day on September 5, 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a silver medal.
  • Two teachers from Rajasthan selected for the National Teacher Award given by the Ministry of Education, Government of India on Teachers' Day include Sunita, a science teacher from Government Higher Secondary School of the Deaf, Bikaner and Durgaram Muwal, a teacher of Government Upper Primary School, Pargiyapada, Udaipur.
  • Teacher Sunita has encouraged these special children to participate in state level science competition and national level Inspire Award continuously since 2017 under the innovation of teaching science with deaf and deaf children.
