Why in News
- On February 21, 2022, Divya Sampark Innovation Hub of IIT Roorkee was designated as a Technology Innovation Hub.
- This designation was given for imparting training in technology development, skill development, entrepreneurship and startup subjects under the Multidisciplinary Cyber Physical System Scheme (NM-ICPS) of the Government of India in all the state engineering colleges of the state.
Key Points
- NM-ICPS is an umbrella mission, which will address the issues of technology development, human resource development, entrepreneurship and startup development and related technologies in cyber physical systems.
- The mission aims to create 15 technology innovation centres, 6 investment innovation centers and 4 technology based innovation centres.
- This mission was approved by the Central Government in 2018 for a term of 5 years.
