Why In News?
In a virtual program organized on the occasion of Chhattisgarh Gaurav Diwas on December 17, 2022 Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced the implementation of 'Mukhyamantri Vriksh Sampada Yojana' considering the immense potential of promoting commercial use of trees in the state.
Key Points
- The objective of this scheme is to promote wood-based industries by encouraging tree plantation on private land and to increase income and employment opportunities.
- The Chief Minister directed to prepare a proposal of 'Mukhyamantri Vriksh Sampada Yojana' to promote tree plantation on private land in the state and present it in the upcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers.
- The Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 100 crore for this scheme while announcing 'Mukhyamantri Vriksh Sampada'.
- Apart from this, the Chief Minister announced Rs 1000 crore for the maintenance and upgradation of all schools, hostels, ashrams, government buildings and 'Swami Atmanand Excellent ITI Scheme' for upgradation of industrial training institutions to improve the standard of technical education.
