Why In News?
On 6th April, 2022, the State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) to set up Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Chandil in Seraikela-Kharsawan district with the objective of skill development of more and more youth of the State and making them industry ready.
Key Points
- The MoU was signed by Saurav Roy (Chief, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tata Steel) and Satyanand Bhokta (Minister, Department of Labour, Employment, Training and Skill Development).
- The ITI to be set up at Chandil will provide training in technical and vocational courses with an initial capacity of 100 students and will start from the 2023 academic session.
- The aim is to make it a platform where local youth can take advantage of employment opportunities and fulfill their dream of contributing significantly to the income of their family.
- TSF's focus will be on reaching out to the marginalized communities, especially in the tribal areas, where the youth acquire specialized skills, right knowledge and know-how to apply them.
- Significantly, this is the third ITI institute of Tata Steel Foundation in Jharkhand. The other two institutes are ITI Tamar and ITI Jagannathpur.
