Why In News?
- On November 11, 2022, an agreement was signed between the Government of Chhattisgarh and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in New Delhi in the presence of Chhattisgarh Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat.
Key Points
- The main objective of this agreement between the Government of Chhattisgarh and ICCR is to develop bilateral cultural relations with other countries along with the development and expansion of cultural and tourism related facilities and building strong infrastructure in the state with the active participation of ICCR and the State Government.
- The agreement between the Chhattisgarh government and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will open up new possibilities in the field of culture and tourism in the state.
- With this agreement, the performance of participating artists from different countries will be possible in various cultural and tourism related programs organized in Chhattisgarh state. Similarly, exhibitions, art camps, seminars, conferences, workshops of performing arts etc. of art groups of Chhattisgarh state will be organized abroad, this will give international recognition to the art culture of Chhattisgarh.
- It is noteworthy that during the National Tribal Dance Festival and Rajyotsava to be held in the capital of Chhattisgarh, ICCR has played the most important role in inviting dancers from abroad and sending them back to their country honorably after the event.
