10 Minority Hostels to be Built in Different Districts – Working Women Hostel in Jaipur and Citizen Facilitation Center to be Built in Jodhpur

Why In News?

According to the information given by the Information and Public Relations Department of Rajasthan on July 10, 2023, the state government is going to open hostels in various districts to provide better education to the students of minority communities in the state. Along with this, a hostel for working women will be set up in Mansarovar, Jaipur and a Minority Citizen Facilitation Center in Jodhpur.

  • According to the information, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to increase the amount of Minority Development Fund to Rs 200 crore including its establishment and to get the approved progress works done under the fund in the year 2022-23.
  • 10 hostels will be built in these 9 districts – Kishanpole (girls) in Jaipur, Dudu, Kuchaman City (girls) in Nagaur, 50-50-bed hostels will be built in Baran, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Bundi, Chittorgarh and Churu. Students studying in colleges and universities from class 9 onwards will be able to take admission in these hostels.
  • A hostel will be built for working women belonging to the minority community in Mansarovar area of Jaipur. It will be 100 beds. In this, priority will be given to low-paid women working in Jaipur from different districts.
  • Minority Citizen Facilitation Center will be set up in Jodhpur. Here you will get information about all schemes related to minorities. Training camps will be organized in the center. Seminars will also be organized for the encouragement of students and the general public.
