Why In News?
- On November 13, 2022, Para Kayaking player Pooja Ojha of Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh has been selected for the National Award (Best Disabled Category Sports) by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

- Asian Para Championship silver medalist Pooja Ojha will be given this honor at a function held in New Delhi on December 3.
- Pooja Ojha won a silver medal under the guidance of her coach Mayank Thakur in the ICF World Para Canoe Championship-2022 held in Canada in August.
- Pooja, in association with the Kayaking and Canoeing Association of India and the Sports Authority of India, had gone to participate in the event.
- This honor is being given to Pooja by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Six best players from all over the country have been selected including Pooja in the Best Disabled category sports and Pooja is the only player selected from Madhya Pradesh.
