- With the ascent of the new holy Shri Jhande ji on March 22, 2022, the Jhanda Mela formally started in Dehradun.

- It is worth noting that the Jhanda Mela, which lasts for about a month, starts five days after Holi, on Chaitra Krishna Panchami, with the ascension of Shri Jhande ji to the Darbar Sahib.
- The Shree Jhande ji fair held in Dehradun has its own history. For this, thousands of devotees from different places of the country including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan reach Shri Darbar Sahib.
- There are three types of cover on Shree Jhande ji. The starting 41 layers of Gilaaf is the simple plain cloth called ‘Jhanda Ji’ then followed by 21 layers of velvet cloth called ‘Shaneel’ and the final outer covering of ‘Darshani cloth’.
