On November 10, 2021, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved proposals for financial sanction of Rs 695.40 crore for 49 water supply projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Key Points
- Under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) by the Finance Department, 41 water supply schemes worth more than Rs 5 crore, revised cost of 6 approved projects, including construction of Anicut at Sancholi (Sawai Madhopur) on River Morel and transmission pipeline project from Surajpura to Sambhar, total A proposal for financial sanction of Rs 695.40 crore was sent for 49 projects.
- In order to provide pure drinking water in rural areas under JJM, it was announced in the budget for the year 2021-22 to connect 20 lakh households with drinking water connection in a phased manner.
- In the current financial year in the state, an amount of Rs 1077.88 crore has been spent so far by the state government for providing 'Har Ghar Nal Connection' to rural families under JJM. Rajasthan is also one of the leading states in the country in terms of expenditure on rural drinking water projects in JJM.
