Industrial Parks To be Built in 15 Cities

On May 8, 2022, sources in the Chief Minister's Office said that private sector industrial parks would be developed in 15 cities to make the state an industrial hub by promoting industrial activities in Uttar Pradesh.

- Sources in the Chief Minister's Office said that a plan has been prepared in the identified districts for setting up a 'Private Industrial Park' (PIP) in the state.
- The industries covered under PIP in the initial phase of the scheme include textiles, readymade garments, food processing, perfumery, brass products and electronic products industries.
- The districts identified under this include Lucknow, Unnao, Amethi, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Auraiya, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Azamgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Gorakhpur and Prayagraj.
- The development of PIP in the state will be done in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDC).
- In this context, land has been marked along the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Unnao for the first PIP of the state.
