Why in News?
- On July 20, 2022, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated a cricket stadium built at a cost of Rs. 4.5 crore in Kumhari, a municipal council in Durg district.
Key Points
- The Chief Minister also inaugurated construction works worth Rs.42 crore and performed bhoomi pujan on the occasion. These works include dedication work worth Rs. 10 crore and bhoomi pujan work worth Rs. 31 crore.
- The Chief Minister also announced to name the stadium after late Minimata on the proposal of the citizens of Kumhari.
- The Chief Minister lauded the construction work of the stadium and said that the fine infrastructure of such a sport will boost the morale of the players and help in nurturing the sporting talent in the pottery.
