Why In News?

• On September 9, 2022, several important decisions were taken including cancellation of 5 recruitment examinations under uttarakhand subordinate services selection commission (UKSSSC) in the meeting of Uttarakhand Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Key Points

• The Cabinet has cancelled five recruitment examinations of uttarakhand subordinate services selection commission, which is surrounded by paper leak controversy. Now these recruitments will be done by Uttarakhand Public Service Commission. Along with this, the responsibility of 18 new recruitments has also been entrusted to the Public Service Commission. In the cabinet meeting, it was approved to amend the regulations of the Public Service Commission for this.
• After the meeting, Secretary Personnel Shailesh Bagauli said that it has been decided to divide the recruitments of Subordinate Services Selection Commission into three categories.
• Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has been given the responsibility of recruitment to a total of 7000 posts. Of these, there are 700 posts whose recruitment examination has been canceled. There are 5340 posts for which only advertisement has been published and 1187 are posts for which advertisement is to be published.
• The Public Service Commission will issue a calendar for all the recruitments. All the rules related to group C will apply in this. Candidates whose fees were deposited, will not have to pay the fees again.
• Several other important decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat-

  • If the eligible candidate is not selected for the 932 posts created under the Secondary Education Department, now 50 percent promotion for the post of Principal will be selected on the basis of seniority and the remaining 50 percent posts will be selected by the Committee Departmental Examination from the Principals and Spokespersons.
  • The Joint Entrance Examination and Training Research Development Cell set up under the Technical Council of Technical Education, Roorkee will be renamed as 'Research Development and Training Institute'.
  • The Act will be brought to change the designation of civil judge (junior division) as civil judge and civil judge (senior division) as senior civil judge under the department of justice.
  • Uttarakhand Public Service Commission was allowed to recruit 10 posts through outsourcing for the attendant.
