Important Decisions of the Council of Ministers Headed by the Chief Minister

Why in News?

On 4 May 2023, a meeting of the Council of Ministers was held in the Ministry under the chairmanship of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In which various important decisions were taken.

Key Points:

  • In the sequence of the Chief Minister's announcement, the cabinet approved the increase in the amount of assistance to well-meaning scholars, litterateurs/artists and their dependents by the Directorate of Culture under the Culture Department.
  • The monthly assistance amount per family artist/writer has been increased from Rs.1500 to Rs.5000. Along with this, on the death of the artist/writer, approval has been given to assist Rs 3500 to the family.
  • The cabinet has decided to implement a new state-funded scheme 'Formation and Promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO)' to encourage the formation of at least 2 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in each development block in the state.
  • In this scheme, such FPOs will be encouraged which have not been formed in collaboration with any other organization. Hand Holding will be provided to these FPOs. This will help the FPO members to use quality inputs, advanced agricultural machinery, and post-harvest techniques.
  • This scheme will be implemented in the entire state through the Director, Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development.
  • The cabinet approved the development, implementation and operation of the second phase of the e-municipality project 'e-municipality 2.0' to continue all the citizen services and departmental works being provided through the 'e-municipality portal' through digital means. The E-Municipality 2.0 portal will be developed in 2 years. It will be operated and maintained for 5 years. This project will be for 7 years.
  • The new system will include 16 modules and 24 citizen services. Project IT infrastructure and hardware will be based on cloud technology. The estimated expenditure on the entire project will be Rs 200 crore.
  • The cabinet has decided to execute O-M Agreement and to sign a CNS/ATM MoU to develop and operate the Datia airstrip on behalf of the State Government by the Airport Authority of India under the UDAN scheme.
  • In the first phase, air services will start on Datia-Bhopal and Datia-Khajuraho routes, due to which air services will be available for common citizens from Datia as well.
  • The cabinet approved the formation of a new subdivision Malhargarh in district Mandsaur. The cabinet approved the creation of a new subdivision Jaisinagar in district Sagar.
  • The cabinet approved the creation of a new tehsil Doraha in district Sehore.
